WB SET Eligibility Criteria 2020

The conducting body of WBSET 2020 provides a list of eligibility criteria fulfilling that candidates can apply to WBSET 2020. The eligibility criteria of WB SET 2020 covers all the particulars related to candidates regarding the job profile i.e. educational qualification, age limit, category wise criteria and many more. Candidates must read the eligibility criteria of WB SET 2020 mentioned below before applying:

• Candidates (unreserved category) must have passed the master's degree or equivalent with a minimum aggregation of 55% (without rounding off)from an recognised university.

• Candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) / SC/ST/ PWD/ Transgenders category must have secured 50%(without rounding off) from an recognised university/Institutionin their master's degree.

• Candidates pursuing Masters or equivalent or are in the final year and whose result is awaited or candidates with delayed qualifying exams can also apply. However, such candidates will be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only if they pass their Masters OR equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories and transgenders). These candidates have to complete their Masters or equivalent exam within 2 years from the date of WB SET result with the required percentage.

• Candidates having PhD degree along with Masters degree completed in September 19, 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) will get a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks. The qualifying marks for such candidates will be 50%.

• Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only or if the name of the subject differs in the list of subjects, then they can appear for a related subject.

• Candidates with post-graduate certificate/diploma from an Indian University/Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate from any foreign University/institute must ascertain that their diploma/degree/certificate is equivalent to the Masters degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Such candidates can also apply for WB SET.

Exemptions:

• Candidates who have cleared NET / SLET/ CSIR JRF are exempted from appearing in SET. They can straight away apply for the post of Assistant Professors in the institutions/colleges/universities affiliated with Govt. of India

• If a candidate has qualified the SET held from 01 June 2002 onwards, then they will be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor only in the Universities/Colleges located in the state from where they have cleared their SET.

WB SET Application Form 2020

• Online Payment: Those who are opting for an online payment option, they have to pay through “Credit card/Debit Card/ Net Banking”.

• Offline Payment: Offline payment will be done by the challan issued by the bank. Candidates need to fill the challan online and take print out.

Rs. 500 for OBC-NCL

Rs. 250 for SC, ST, PwD, Transgender.

WB SET Exam Pattern 2020

The exam pattern of WB SET 2020 consists of two papers. Paper 1 is the general paper for each candidate and candidates will get an opportunity to choose their particular subject. There is a list of 30 subjects out of which candidates have to choose one subject. Both the papers are conducted on the same day in two different sessions.

WB SET Admit Card 2020

The authority will release the admit card of WB SET 2020 tentatively in the first week of December. Candidates can download the admit card of WBSET till the exam date that will be tentatively in January 2021. Candidates who successfully filled their application form with correct information qualifying all the eligibility criteria are able to download the admit card. Candidates can download their admit card by using their login credentials.Candidates are advised to check all the particulars mentioned on the admit card is correct. WB SET Answer Key 2020

The exam conducting body will release the answer keys for WB SET 2020 after the completion of examination. WB SET Answer Key 2020 will be released in a PDF file form. Candidates can check the WB SET answer keys on the official website once it will be released by the conducting authority. Candidates can check the answer key and submit their queries. After considering the errors/mistakes, the official authority will release the final answer keys.

WB SET Result 2020

WB SET result will be announced in online mode tentatively in January 2021. Candidates can check their result by entering their registration number of WB SET and password in the login window. As per WBCSC, top 6% of the candidates taking the test (in both papers) and securing minimum 40% aggregate marks (General Category) in paper I and II be taken together for qualifying in the exam. Reserved category candidates need to obtain at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together will be declared qualified for eligibility to be Assistant Professor.

WB SET 2020 CUT OFF

The cut off marks of WB SET is the minimum marks released by the authority to shortlist the candidates for the further stage of recruitment. To qualify in both the papers of WB SET 2020, candidates must secure marks more than or equal to the cut off marks of WB SET 2020. The cut off marks will be released separately for both the papers. However, before this, candidates must also secure the minimum qualifying marks which are 40% for general category while for OBC, SC, ST & PwD category candidates it is 35%. Candidates securing both qualifying percentages and the minimum cut off of WB SET 2020 only be considered for the final merit list.
