Further, for the registration of UPSC CSM 2017, candidates will have to provide their roll number of CSE Prelims, name, date of birth, mobile number and e-mail id. The candidates will also need to remit an application fee of Rs. 200 against the UPSC Mains Application Form 2017. Earlier, the UPSC had invited application form for prelims from February 22 till March 17, 2017. UPSC Civil Services Application Form 2017 for Mains Exam
The qualified candidate of Civil Services (Prelims) Exam can fill UPSC Mains Application Form 2017 in online mode through the Commission’s website by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF) and uploading the scanned copies of the required document within the prescribed time.
OBC (non- creamy layer) candidates are required to fill the OBC proforma along with the UPSC mains 2017 application form.
The candidates also need to note that under no circumstances they were allowed to change in centre, optional subject, indian language paper (Paper-A) and medium of examination they had indicated in their filled online UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 of Mains Exam.
The online submission of the DAF and the duly filled in OBC proforma (applicable for OBC non-creamy layer candidates) along with the uploaded documents were acknowledged electronically by sending email by the Commission.

In case of recommendation of candidate's name by UPSC for service allocation, the candidate shall be considered for allocation to one of those services by the Government for which he/she shall indicate his/her preference, subject to fulfilment of other conditions.

A candidate who wishes to be considered for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police Service (IPS) shall be required to indicate in his application form for the Mains Examination his order of preferences for various State Cadres for which he would like to be considered for allotment in case he is appointed to the IAS or IPS separately for IAS and IPS and no change in preference of cadre once indicated by a candidate in the UPSC Civil Services Mains Application Form 2017 will be permitted.
UPSC Civil Services 2017 Application Form Fee for Mains
Candidates applying (except Female/ SC /ST /PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) for Civil Services (Main) Examination are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200.
The payment can be done through depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using Net Banking facility of State Bank of India (SBI allied banks) or by using Credit/ Debit (Visa or Master) card.
Applicants who opt for ‘Pay by Cash’ mode should print the system generated challan during filling UPSC Civil Services 2017 Mains Application Form and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.
The mode of payment through challan will end on August 30, 2017 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay-in-Slip before it gets deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours even on the closing date.
Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons, whatsoever, even if holding valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available Online Debit/ Credit Card or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 1800 hours of August 31, 2017.
UPSC Civil Services 2017 Mains Exam Centres
The UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 of mains exam will be held at as many as 23 cities across various centres in India.
Candidates are needed to choose examination centre while filling the UPSC Mains application form 2017.
The UPSC may not operate centres where the number of candidates is very low.
In such cases, the Commission may allot the centre located nearest to the candidates.

Aspirants were required to apply online for UPSC CS Prelims 2017 through the official link before the last date of application.
The UPSC prelims application form 2017 process consists of two stages - Part I and Part II.
Part I contained the general application information, including name and contact details. After fill the details, candidates have to press 'I agree' button and a confirmation page is generated and applicants must note down the registration number.
Part II includes exam centre or venues related options, photographs uploading and fee payment.
Aspirants needed to have their photograph and signature duly scanned in jpg format (Photograph size: between 3 kb and 40 kb & Photograph dimension: 140X110 pixels) and (Signature size: between 1kb and 40 kb & Signature dimension: 140X110).
Applicants could remit application fee online via SBI net banking or by cash via SBI bank challan or via credit card/debit card. Aspirants were required to submit the specified application fee before the deadline.
Candidates were required to submit their valid and active e-mail ids as all communication regarding the recruitment process was to be done through the aspirant’s registered email id.
The UPSC accepted only single application. In any case any candidate submitted more than one applications, he/she must note that only final UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 was accepted and it need not have any errors and neededn to be completed in all the respects.
