The Indian Air Force prescribes AFCAT 1 2025 eligibility criteria in the official notification. Before applying for AFCAT 1 2025 exam, candidates must go through the age limit, nationality and educational qualifications carefully detailed below.
Nationality - Aspirants must be a citizen of India as per Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.
AFCAT Age Limit - 1) Flying Branch - 20-24 years as of July 1, 2025 i.e., born between July 2, 2000 to July 1, 2004. The upper age limit for aspirants holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA is given relaxation up to 26 years.
2) Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) branches - 20 to 26 years as of July 1, 2025 i.e., born between July 2, 2000 to July 1, 2004.

IAF will release the AFCAT 1 2025 application form online mode at afcat.cdac.in. Candidates who meet eligibility criteria can fill up the AFCAT 1 application form 2025. To submit the application form of AFCAT 1 2025 successfully, candidates needed to pay an application fee irrespective of gender and category. IAF will also provides the AFCAT 1 2025 application form correction facility in online mode for a certain time period.

Step 2: Login Process to fill up the Application Form
Log in by using the Registration number and password. Choose the post.
Enter other information like educational information depending upon the educational qualification of the candidate.
Pay the examination fee as applicable by using an online Debit/Credit card or Internet Banking.
Aspirants are needed to upload their scanned colour photograph and signature in (English or Hindi) in JPEG format.
Tap on the link “Upload” and then, upload scanned files.
Then, you need to upload all required certificates.
Submit the application.
Before submission, candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs 250.
Download and take two or three prints out of the acknowledgement form for future reference.
Indian Air Force provides the AFCAT 1 2025 exam pattern in the official notification. Candidates need to appear first on the AFCAT 1 2025 written exam conducted in computer-based mode. The AFCAT 1 written exam pattern 2025 will consist of 100 MCQ questions with 300 marks asked from various subjects such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude.
Aspirants who have applied for Ground Duty Technical Branch posts must appear in the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) in which 50 questions of 150 marks will be asked from subjects like Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics. AFSB stage 1 test includes two sub-exams to pass which are Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIT) and Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT). The AFCAT State 1 exam is called the Screening test. Those who don’t clear it will be rejected and won’t be called for AFSB stage 2 testing. However, Stage 2 aspirants have to clear a few tests like psychological tests, group tests, AFSB interviews, and computerised pilot selection system (CPSS) tests.

Yes, you are eligible to sit for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) and Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) exams provided you meet certain criteria. For CDS, you need a degree from a recognized university for Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officers' Training Academy (OTA), and for the Air Force Academy (AFA), you need a degree with Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level or a Bachelor of Engineering. Candidates between 19 to 25 years of age are eligible to apply for CDS recruitment 2024. Before filling up the application form, aspirants must check UPSC CDS eligibility criteria carefully. CDS exam 2024 for both sessions will be conducted on April 21, 2024 and September 1, 2024.
