IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2018 - The exam pattern of IBPS RRB has been released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. Through IBPS RRB exam pattern 2018, aspirants will get a better understanding of paper pattern, the division of questions, exam duration, marking scheme and other relevant information. IBPS conducted IBPS RRB 2018 preliminary exam on August 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and September 1, 2018. The mains exam /single exam for Officers (I, II & III) was held on September 30 and mains for Office Assistant was conducted on October 7 at various centres across India.

The online examination is conducted in three phases - preliminary, mains/single and interview to recruit candidates for the posts of Officers Scale I, II, III and Office Assistant (Multi-purpose). The number of candidates provisionally allotted will be on the basis of vacancies available. Applicants qualifying in the prelims for Officers Scale I will be selected for the main exam, qualifying which they will be shortlisted to participate in interview round. Candidates applying for Scale II and Scale III will need to appear for the online examination. Candidate will be selected to appear in subsequent stages of the exam on the basis of marks obtained in the online exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a common interview. The interview will be organised by Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the aid of NABARD and IBPS.

IBPS RRB 2018 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is common for all stages of the exams for different posts under IBPS RRB 2018. As per IBPS RRB exam pattern 2018, candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer while one-fourth marks (0.25 marks) will be deducted for each incorrect response. However, no marks shall be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions.

The prelim exam of IBPS RRB 2018 for the post of Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) and Scale I Officer included two subjects - reasoning and numerical ability.

  • Candidates could either opt for the exam in either Hindi or English.

  • The question paper of IBPS RRB Preliminary exam 2018 contained 40 questions each from both subjects.

IBPS RRB Exam 2018 is conducted online. The preliminary and main exam (for Scale I Officer and Office Assistant) along with the single level exam (for Scale II and Scale III Officers), had objective type questions. The recruitment of candidates through IBPS RRB exam 2018 is made broadly for two categories of vacancies – Group A Officers (Scale – I, II, III) and Group B Office Assistants (Multi-purpose). The candidates must obtain minimum required marks and above in each test and also in aggregate CWE (Common Written Examination) scores in order to get selected for the next round – Common Interview, which will be conducted by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank and coordinated by NABARD and IBPS in each State and Union Territory.
