There are two stages in the AFCAT exam - written test and AFSB (Air Force Selection Board). Unlike the NDA exam, both male as well as female candidates can apply for it. Candidates who qualify in the written test of the AFCAT 2021 are then called to appear in the AFSB which is a 5-day process. After the AFSB, aspirants will then have to qualify in the medical test, post which they will be commissioned into the AFCAT course.
What is the AFCAT full form?
The AFCAT full form is the Air Force Common Admission Test. The full form of EKT is Engineering Knowledge Test, while that of IAF is Indian Air Force. AFSB stands for Air Force Selection Board.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2021
Before filling the AFCAT application form, candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the official notification. The AFCAT eligibility criteria consists of the nationality, academic qualification, age limit and physical requirements needed to fill the application form.
Candidates must be citizens of India and those below 25 years should be unmarried. For flying branch through AFCAT and NCC special entry candidates age must be between 20 and 24 years as of January 1, 2022. There is upper age relaxation till 26 years for candidates having valid and current commercial pilot license issued by DGCA. Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: Aspirants must be between 20 and 26 years, as of January 1, 2022. The academic for flying branch candidates must be BE/BTech while that for non technical branches must be graduation in a designated field.
AFCAT exam pattern
Indian Air Force mentions the exam pattern in the official AFCAT notification. As per the exam pattern of AFCAT 2021, the first stage is conducted in online mode for 100 questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Aptitude Test. There are 120 minutes to complete the test. There is also negative marking in the exam. The written test is followed by the AFSB.
Indian Air Force prescribes the syllabus of AFCAT which contains all important topics and chapters from where the questions will be asked in the exam. Candidates preparing for the AFCAT exam must follow the AFCAT syllabus along with the exam pattern. The syllabus is divided into four sections - English, General Awareness, Numerical Ability & Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test.

FOR A GRADUATE:
As a Graduate/ Engineer, you can enter the Flying branch through the Air Force Academy. The following are the three modes of entry for Graduates/ Engineers to join the Flying branch:
CDSE (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION) (FOR MEN ONLY)
- Men can enter through this mode of entry and will get a Permanent Commission.
- Eligibility criteria:
- Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course)
- Nationality – Indian
- Marital Status - Single
- Gender - Men only.
- Educational Qualifications
- Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level)/BE/B Tech (Four Year Course).
- Final Year/semester students are also eligible to apply, provided they produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.
- No Percentage Bar for CDSE entry.
- Advertisement Schedule: Advertisements are released by UPSC in the months of November and August.
FOR MEN AND WOMEN:
If you are an NCC Special Entry candidate then you require minimum of 50% in each Maths and Physics at 10+2 Examination level.
If you are a graduate and an SCC Candidate then the above criteria applies and you need to have 60% or equivalent marks at the time of graduation.

Yes, you are for AFCAT Ground Duly (Non-local) if you have passed Bachelor's degree from a recognized board. In Ground Duty (Non-Technical) you are eligible to apply for ADMINISTRATION BRANCH and LOGISTICS BRANCH. The eligibility criteria is that you must have passed Bachelor's Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. The age must be in between 20 to 26 Years for Graduates and Post Graduates (at the time of commencement of course). Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.

To be eligible for AFCAT you must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics with minimum 50% aggregate marks in each subject from a recognized board. You must have also passed 3 year Bachelor's Degree or 4 year B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% aggregate marks from a recognized board or University. You may not have studied Mathematics/Physics in 10+2 level so you will not be eligible to appear for AFCAT. If you have studied Mathematics and Physics in 10+2 level and score minimum 50% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics individually you are eligible to apply provided you must have passed Bio-Technology with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
my height is 4 feet 11 inches i m eligible for the afcat flying branch?
In order to to be eligible for AFCAT, there are certain physical requirements. You need to be physically fit. At the same time, your height must be at least 162.5 cm if you want to join the flying branch. But for AFCAT ground batch, the minimum height is 152 cm.
So, you are not eligible for the AFCAT flying branch.
