WB SET 2020 is expected to be held in December in offline mode for determining the eligibility of the candidates for being recruited as Assistant Professors in the Colleges of West Bengal. The test is held for two papers - paper I and II. Paper I contains 50 questions while paper contains 100 questions of 2 marks each. The examination authorities have determined the eligibility criteria of WB SET for all the aspiring candidates. It is important for the candidates to fulfill the WB SET eligibility criteria 2020 before filling the application form. The WB SET 2020 eligibility must be met on the basis of the following two factors:

Candidates must have secured at least 55% (50% for OBC/SC/ST/PWD) marks in Master’s OR equivalent from Universities/Institutions recognised by UGC
Candidates who are pursuing/appearing in the final year of their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates whose examinations have been delayed can also appear for WB SET 2020 exam provided they must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of WB SET result declartion with required percentage of marks.
The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) can appear under a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%).
Candidates having post-graduate diploma/certificate by Indian University/Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign University/institute should ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
No upper age limit has been set for appearing in the WB SET 2020 examination.

Along with filling the application form, the candidates will have to pay the application fee as per their categories. For online payment of application fee, candidates can use their Credit Card, Debit Card and Internet Banking. While paying through challan, candidates have to get a printed copy of the challan and pay in cash at any branch of United Bank of India. However, payment via challan can only be done only after two banking days (after generation of challan), including Bank charges of Rs. 48. For online payment, the additional processing charges have to be paid by the candidates.

Candidates will be able to select their desired exam centre of WB SET while filling the application form 2020. WB SET exam centres are the venues wherein the test will be conducted. As per exam centres of WB SET list, there are a total of 22 cities in which the exam will be conducted. The details related to the allotment of the WB SET exam centre will be mentioned in the admit card issued to the candidates few days prior to the date of the examination. As per the exam pattern of WB SET, the test will be held for two papers - paper I and II, Paper will be a common paper containing questions from reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness of the candidate.The paper I test will contain a total of 50 questions of 2 marks each. Paper II of WB SET exam will contain a total of 100 questions of 2 marks each. The test will have questions from the subject selected by the candidate, BOth the papers will be he;ld in offline mode in which candidates will be given 1 hour for paper I while for paper II, candidates will get 2 hours.

The exam authorities will release the WB SET 2020 cut off along with the announcement of the result in February 2021. The cut off of WB SET will be released in the form of PDF. The authorities will release the cut off for each category. Candidates securing marks equal to or more than the minimum cut off will be considered qualified. There are two types of cut off for wbset exam . One is category cut off and other is aubject wise cut off. The category wise cut off for gen is 40% and sc/st/phw is 35%. The students who qualify both cut offs are qualified. The factors determining cut off are.
