Odisha Judicial Service Syllabus 2024 - Prelims Weightage

The OJSE prelims consists of one paper holding 100 marks. According to the OPSC Judiciary syllabus, the paper contains 100 questions of one mark each. For each answer attempted incorrectly there is a 25% negative marking. There is, however, no negative marking for unattempted answers. To clear the exam, general candidates must score above 40% and reserved candidates must score above 35% to qualify for the OPSC Judicial Mains. Odisha Judicial Service Syllabus 2024 - Mains exam

The OJSE 2024 Mains exam 2024 is a written subjective exam. There are a total of 5 papers to be attempted in the Odisha Judiciary Mains, 2 compulsory and 3 optional. A set of 5 optional papers is offered in the OJS Mains from which 3 can be chosen. All of the OPSC Judicial mains papers hold 150 marks each. The compulsory papers cover General English and Procedural Laws. The optional papers cover Law of Crime and Law of Torts, Personal Law, Law of Property, Law of Contract and Jurisprudence and Constitution of India. The compulsory papers must be attempted in 2.5 hours each, while the optional subjects can be attempted in 3 hours each. The standard of all the Law Papers is the same as the standard of an LLB course. For the General English paper, the standard is the same as that of a degree course.

The OJS Mains exam consists of 5 papers in all, each holding 150 marks. Two papers are compulsory for all candidates. There are 5 sets of optional papers from which candidates must choose 3 at the time of application. The Odisha Judiciary Mains being a subjective exam, there is no negative marking.
