APSC Result 2018 – Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has declared the APSC 2018 Result for the preliminary examination on March 13, 2019. APSC result has been declared online in PDF format. APSC result 2018 for the mains exam is likely to be declared in September 2019. The result of APSC 2018 display the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Based on APSC 2018 result of preliminary exam, total 3361 candidates have been selected for the mains exam. APSC 2018 prelims exam was held on March 20. The steps to check APSC 2019 result are explained below.

The Preliminary examination of APSC consists of two papers – General Studies and optional subject selected by candidates. Total marks allotted for the preliminary exam was 400. Based on APSC result of the preliminary examination, candidates 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies have been selected for the mains examination. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination are not taken into consideration for final merit list. The Commission will release category-wise cut off marks for the preliminary examination. Candidates have to secure the cutoff to qualify the exam and get selected for the next round of selection process.
APSC mains result 2019 is expected to be declared in September, 2019. Mains exam of APSC will be conducted from July 22 to August 13, 2019. On the basis of APSC result 2018 of mains examination, candidates will be called for Interview. Candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for interview. Approximately, 522 candidates will be selected for interview as the number of vacancies are 261. The marks of mains examination will be counted for the final merit list. There are no qualifying marks for interview.
APSC result for final selection will be prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in the mains exam and interview. Candidates will be allotted to the various posts based on their rank in the merit list.
APSC Combined Competitive Examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates to various posts in departments like Assam Land & Revenue Service, Assam Police Service, Superintendent of Taxes, Superintendent of Excise, Labour Inspector, Inspector of Taxes and Inspector of Excise. As many as 261 vacancies will be filled through this examination. Total 60,275 candidates appeared for the prelims exam.
