IFS Exam Pattern 2019 - Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) determines the exam pattern of Indian Forest Services (IFS) along with the notification for the exam. As per IFS exam pattern 2019, UPSC conducts (IFS) exam in three stage – prelims, mains and interview to recruit candidates as officers to forestry services of India. The Prelims exam comprises two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 while the Mains exam will comprise six papers as mentioned in IFS exam pattern 2019. Candidates qualifying Mains exam will be called for Personality Test/Interview. IFS Prelims exam contains two papers of 200 marks each. The questions asked in both the papers of Prelims exam will be objective type questions. According to IFS 2019 marking scheme, 1 mark will be allotted to candidates for every right answer. The Commission has specified that one-third marks allotted for each question will be deducted for incorrect response, that is 0.33 mark will be deducted for wrong answers. Candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks in IFS prelims exam will be shortlisted to appear for Mains exam. IFS 2019 Mains exam consist of total six papers. Each paper will be conducted for 3 hours and questions asked in the papers will be conventional type questions. Candidates qualifying this exam stage will be called for Interview round.
