The Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) will conduct OICL exam for the recruitment of Officers in Scale I cadre. Aspiring candidates between 21 to 30 years of age and those who hold graduation/post-graduation degree with at least 60% marks can apply for the available posts. The exam of OICL will be conducted in three phases - phase I, II and Interview. Candidates who qualify in phase I will be eligible to appear for the phase II examination.
Only those candidates will be called for the Interview round who will qualify in the Phase II exam of OICL. Phase I (prelims) exam will comprise of objective questions of 100 marks for which candidates will be given 1 hour. The phase II (mains) exam will consist of two tests - objective and descriptive. The objective test of the OICL mains exam will consist of 200 marks questions while the descriptive test will comprise of 30 marks questions for which the candidates will be given 2 hours 30 minutes. The final result of OICL will be based on the marks scored by the candidates in the online test (excluding the descriptive part) and Interview.

The exam conducting authority will determine the eligibility criteria of OICL for the candidates who wish to appear for the recruitment exam. OICL eligibility criteria is the minimum requirement on the basis of age and educational qualification, that must be fulfilled by the candidates before filling the application form. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria of OICL may be rejected at any later stage of the recruitment process.
OICL eligibility criteria - Age
The candidates must be between 21 to 30 years of age. However, there are various age relaxations provided to the reserved category candidates. The table below contains the age relaxations as per the category.

OICL will release the application form in online mode. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill the application form along with the payment of application fee. Candidates must fill in the application form with correct details. Before filling the application form, candidates must have an active email ID, mobile number, scanned image and signature. In order to fill the application form, candidates must click on the registration link and fill in the details like name, email ID etc. A registration ID and password will be generated which will be sent to the candidates on their mail and mobile.
Candidates can use these login credentials to access their application form later. Along with filling the details, candidates must also upload their scanned photograph and signature of the prescribed dimension. Candidates must preview the application form before they finally submit the application form of OICL as no modification or correction will be done once the application has been submitted. The application form of OICL will not be accepted by the examination authority until the application fee is paid. The application fee of OICL will be determined by the exam conducting authority as per the category of the candidates.

Guidelines of uploading scanned image and signature
Candidates must upload the scanned image and signature of the prescribed specifications. Check below the specifications required.
For uploading the Photograph
Must be a recent passport size colour photograph.
The preferred dimension is 200 x 230 pixels.
File size must be between 20kb-50kb.
For uploading the Signature
The signature must be done on white paper with black pen.
Preferred dimension is 140 x 60 pixels.
File size should be between 10kb —20kb.

In order to know the sections from where the questions can be asked in the preliminary exam of OICL examination, candidates can go through the exam pattern of OICL. As per the OICL exam pattern, the prelims exam will be conducted in online mode. The questions asked in the prelims exam of OICL. The total number of questions asked in the prelims exam will be 100 divided into three sections - English language carrying 30 questions, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude carrying 35 questions each.
Each question will carry 1 mark each. The objective type question will be subject to negative marking where one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No marks will be deducted if the questions are left unanswered. The exam of OICL will be conducted both in English as well as in Hindi (except for the English language paper). The mains exam of OICL will consist of two tests - objective and descriptive test. The objective test will be conducted for 200 marks while the descriptive test will consist of questions of 30 marks for which candidates will be given 2 hours 30 minutes. All those candidates who fill the application along with the payment of application fee within the time frame allotted will be issued the prelims admit card of OICL. Candidates can download the OICL admit card in online mode by using their login credentials. The prelims admit card of OICL will contain the name of the candidates, roll number, photograph, date and time of examination and the exam centre where the prelims exam will be held. Candidates must check for all the details on the admit card and take a printout. The admit card must be carried by the candidates to the exam centre on the day of examination. Candidates must also carry one of the prescribed ID proof along with the admit card.
The admit card of the mains exam will be issued to only those candidates who will qualify in the prelims exam of OICL. Candidates will be able to download the mains admit card of OICL in online mode by filling in their registration number and password in the admit card login window. The admit card of mains exam of OICL will reflect the name of the candidates, photograph, roll number, date and time of examinations, and the respective centre of the candidates where the mains exam of OICL will be conducted. Candidates must carry the admit card to the mains exam centre along with one of the prescribed photo identity proofs.
The preliminary exam result of OICL will be released by the exam conducting body in order to shortlist the candidates for the next phase of the examination. Candidates who score the minimum cut off marks as per their category will only be considered qualified by the examination authority. Candidates can check the result of the OICL in PDF format. Candidates who find their roll numbers in the result PDF will have to appear for the mains exam of OICL.
The mains exam result of OICL will be declared for only those candidates who have appeared in the mains examination. The result will be declared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the mains exam of OICL. Candidates will be able to check their mains results of OICL in PDF format. The result PDF will contain the roll numbers of all the mains qualified candidates. All those candidates who find their roll number in the result PDF will have to further appear for the interview round after which the final result will be declared.
