MP SET Cut off 2019 – Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released the minimum qualifying cut off of MP SET 2019 along with the result declaration on April 6, 2019. MP SET cut off 2019 has been released in PDF format. The authority has released category wise, subject wise and gender wise cut off marks. According to the MP SET cut off (qualifying), top 6% of the total appeared candidates (who secure at least 40% (General) and 35% marks (reserved)) along with the determined cut off scores as per their gender and category in both the papers have been considered qualified in the exam. These qualified candidates are now eligible for the eligibility certificate of MP SET on the basis of which they can apply as Assistant Teachers across the colleges and universities of the state.

MP SET follows the UGC guidelines and filters top 6% of the total appeared candidates in both papers I and II for the eligibility certificate to be Assistant Professors. However, out of these top 6% candidates, general category candidates need to secure at least 40% marks in MP SET, while reserved category candidates (OBC/SC/ST/PWD) are required to obtain at least 35% marks. Only then, they are considered for the eligibility certificate. This eligibility certificate is the document based on which the qualified candidates become eligible to apply as Assistant Professors at the colleges and universities of Madhya Pradesh. 

MP SET – Revised Cut off and Pattern

Till 2017, MP SET would have 3 papers – Paper I, II and III, however, MPPSC has revised the exam pattern of MP SET from 2019 onwards. According to the new exam pattern, now, the test would have only 2 papers – Paper I and II. Thus, the qualifying cut off of MP SET has also changed from this year onwards.

MP SET Eligibility Certificate 2019

Candidates, who manage to qualify the examination have to collect an eligibility certificate, which is a token of proof of having cleared the exam. Basis this eligibility certificate, the qualified candidates can apply as Assistant Professors across the state colleges and universities.

MP SET Merit List 2019

MPPSC would release two merit lists. The first merit list would be based on candidates performance in MP SET. The first merit list is prepared for those candidates who manage to secure 40% (General) and 35% (Reserved) in both the papers of MP SET.  

Based on the first merit list, the candidates are selected by applying reservation as per the quota/rules here – 15% for SC, 7.5 for ST, 3% for PWD. 

About MP SET 

MP SET is the state level recruitment examination held every year for offering eligibility certificate to the qualifying candidates who can further apply as Assistant Professors at the universities and colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

MP SET is held for 19 subjects. Paper 1 is common for all, while for paper II, candidates have to choose 1 subject of their choice as per their educational background.
