Answering to your question,

In Kerala, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in subjects such as Political Science, Public Administration, History, Economics, or Law alongside preparation for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam is highly beneficial. These disciplines offer a solid foundation in areas crucial for the civil services examination, covering topics like governance, administration, constitutional law, and socio-economic issues. Additionally, degrees in Mathematics, Engineering, or Medicine can provide valuable complementary skills and knowledge for IAS exam preparation. It's essential to select a degree program that matches your interests, strengths, and career objectives, while also allowing sufficient time for focused IAS exam preparation.

See IAS IPS is not a way to earn only but also a responsibility. So If you aren't very much passionate about it then it will be hard for you to compete in UPSC.

A Pharmacy business will give you a lot of money which will not be fixed nor certain.

So its up to you what you want to do? If you care for only money then go business but If you feel like serving your nation then go for UPSC CSE. Pharmacy business is also a great work for the society but its not like Civil Services.

I hope you got my point.
