Calculate your Raw Score: The Raw score is calculated based on the correct and incorrect answers. The formula for calculating the raw score is
Raw Score = Total marks from the correct answers - Negative marks from the incorrect answers |
Apply Normalization Process: Since the CSIR NET exam is held in shifts, there might be slight variations in the difficulty levels. To adjust and maintain fairness normalization method is applied.
The raw scores obtained are converted into a Percentile Score.
The lowest percentile score across all shifts is considered the cutoff.
Calculation of CSIR NET Percentile Score 2026:The percentile score indicates a candidate’s performance compared to peers and is determined using the formula:

Cutoff Determination: Following normalization, NTA announces the cutoff marks by category and subject. Candidates scoring above the threshold will be eligible for JRF and/or Assistant Professor roles.
