UPSC Civil Services Exam
Hello Dear Student,
UPSC CSE Prelims consist of 2 Question Papers:
Paper 1: General Studies (GS), 100 Questions: 200 Marks.
Paper 2: CSAT, 80 Questions: 200 Marks.
Both papers have negative marks for wrong answers marked to the tune of 1/3rd of the total marks assigned to that question.
Subjects in Paper 1 (GS): Indian Polity, Geography, History, Indian Economy, Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology, International Relations and Current Affairs.
Syllabus for CSAT Paper 2: Reading Comprehension, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving, Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders and magnitude), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency) Etc.
Recommended Books for GS Paper 1:
History: NCERT 9th Class (Ancient and Medieval), NCERT 12th Class (Modern Indian History), India's struggle for independence by Bipin Chandra, Modern India History by Spectrum.
Geography: Indian Geography by Majid Hussain, G.C Leong Certificate in Physical Geography, NCERT 6th to 12th, World Atlas.
Polity: Indian Polity by M Laxmikanth, Constitution at Work NCERT Class 11th, Political Theory NCERT Class 11th.
Economics: Indian Economy by Ramesh Singh, NCERT Class 11th & 12th. Or you can also use Indian Economy by Sri Ram IAS.
International Relations: International Relations by Pavneet Singh.
Art & Culture: Indian Art and Culture by Nitin Singhania.
Environment: Environment by Shankar IAS and Environment and Ecology by Vaishali Anand.
Current Affairs: The Hindu Newspaper or The Indian Express and Vision IAS Monthly Current Affairs Magazine or Vajiram and Ravi Monthly Recitals or Rau's IAS Monthly Current Affairs Magazine. Newspaper will also Help you in Science and Technology portion and environment section.
Recommended Books for CSAT Paper 2:
Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning by R.S Aggrawal, TataMcGraw hill CSAT Manual, Old CSAT Question Papers.
Must Solve UPSC CSE Prelims Old Question Papers Book by Disha Publications or Arihant Publications for better practice.

to appear for IAS exam, you can choose Arts groups like, economics, Public administration, psychology, sociology, Political science or Science groups like, Maths, physics, botany, zoology.

Ofcourse it is possible for an IAS officer to treat patients but for that you will need to have a MBBS degree and a license to be a doctor then only you will be eligible for treating patients as a matter of fact anyone with these two things can treat sick patients but without these never.

Well,It is entirely depends on your time shedule. See,You can join coaching any year of your graduation ...you can start self preparation along with it ... but it all depends on your time schedule. And as we know graduation is compulsory for UPSC exam.So please do not ignore that study. You have to make a timetable, then utilize your time accordingly.And see If you are preparing for IAS then most importantly you will be very beneficial, if you do time management from now on. Think on that Good luck...!!!
You need to complete your Bachelors degree or atleast be in final year of your degree to qualify the process and go for Administrative training of IAS, IPS, IRS and other Government Jobs., as a basic requirement. Even if you qualify the Mains and Prelims Papers, you will not get pass the Interview stage, unless you have satisfied the eligibility criteria.

Yes , a B.Tech CSE student can appear in IAS Exam. Any Indian with Graduation degree in any course from recognized university are eligible for IAS exam. The final year student of degree courses are also eligible for IAS exam.

UPSC civil services examination is the common examination to get into services like IAS IPS IFS etc.
Now, irrespective of the service you want to get into you will have to appear in UPSC examination and need to go through its same three stages and has the same syllabus
*prelims exam :- it is objective *Mains exam. :- it is written examination *Interview
Prelims syllabus
It has two papers - *General Studies Paper I and *General Studies Paper-II.

If you want to become an IAS officer then you need to clear UPSC examination
Now,
To be eligible for UPSC examination to become an IAS officer you need to be a graduate in any discipline .
After qualifying JEE Mains you must be doing your engineering right now and engineering is a graduate course so definitely after the completion of your engineering you will be eligible for UPSC examination and if you managed to clear UPSC examination you can become in IAS officer too.

*You must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
So you don't need to worry at all know ,now that you have cleared JEE mains and you will be doing your engineering ,you will be eligible after the completion of your engineering for your UPSC examination
*Minimum age limit :- you need to be at least 21 years old to be eligible
*Maximum age limit :- 32 years , also there's 3 year relaxation on upper age limit for obc and of 5 years for sc/st category
