  • You can opt any college/course for your graduation as per your eligibility criteria and as per your convenience, because at the end you have to give the Exam- UPSE IAS/ Civil services exam to pursue your career as IAS.
  • All you need to be a graduate student to apply for civil services exam.
  • DU and IIT, both are the best option to pursue career in required fields, both have their own benefits in terms of education and placements.

if we are a computer science engineer whether we can apply for IAS

Siddhi Shenoy 18th Oct, 2020

Hi Amisha,

Yes, you can definitely apply for IAS if you are a computer science engineer. For that, once you have completed your engineering degree, you have to answer an entrance exam called UPSC. Note that, in the optional subject for UPSC, there is no CSE. Therefore, I would recommend you to go through the list of optional subjects and select a subject which you can prepare better for. btech tho patu ias ki prepare kavacha chance vundao

Harish Jayaraj 16th Oct, 2020

hey subhashini

I dont know what language your question is in. But I guess I could understand what you mean.

It is "i an doing my BTech, how to prepare for IAS.?" right?

If it is so, then follow my answer.

Since UPSC is not an easy exam, you have to put in a lot of effort to manage both BTech and UPSC. You cant afford to lose either of them.

So, Get Hindu newspaper and make it sure to read all the important news and make not of it. This can keep you updated in current affairs.

Your NCERT books of class 6 - 12 are the best for all upsc exams. So never neglect NCERT books. Make a thorough study of it. This will the core for you social - history , polity, economy, geography. It is the only best book.

For aptitude, comprehension and basic numery, all your engineering subjects are enough. I would say more than enough. Because, it is just test for aptitude and basic problem solving abilities. WHich engineers do every day.

For science and math, be thorough with portions of class (till) 12th and also that of engineering. So it will help you a lot.

NOTE: This is not exact preparation for IAS, I just gave an idea for how to prepare during BTech. So, the best thing would be, make some preparation during BTech and make the best after you BTech. You have to prepare exclusively for UPSC to clear your IAS exams and interview which always follows.

I hope I answered You

Good Luck

Hai sir, Im Yarab pasha, Im studying in class 12th, so how can I write my IAS exam

Shivani sunil kakde 9th Oct, 2020

Dear Candidate,

It is not possible to become an IAS Officer right after completing 12th standard. To become an IAS officer you must crack CSE exam held by UPSC.These exam has three different levels that is preliminary, mains and interview in order to get selected for training.

The basic eligibility criteria required to appear for this exam is – candidate must possess Graduate Degree from a recognized University/Institute.So technically, 12th passed students can’t appear for this exam right after 12th. After completing 12th, they must complete Graduation first. After completing Graduation program successfully, you can appear for CSE exam.

Thank you
