In, 2018 it is expected that there will be only one entrance exam for engineering for all state and private level colleges except IITs.

 

You can prepare according to CBSE syllabus. First, you should complete your NCERT books.

Some of the recommended books for UPSC you can consider are:

NCERT (XI) Ancient India- R.S. Sharma

NCERT (XI) Medieval India- Satish Chandra

NCERT (XII) Modern India- Bipin Chandra

Yes you can but before that focus on your graduation degree. You can do in sociology, pol science etc as these subjects will help you.

Aim at scoring 60% and above atleast.

First of all clear your goal. Then take decision of your future. If you have interest in engineering you should go for iits preparation and if in civil services then go for graduation along with upsc preparations.

See UPSC conduct exams Like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, IES and many more...

For IES exam only engineering candidate eligible... and they can also apply for IAS/ IPS/IFS/IRS exam too...

Other graduate candidates can apply all UPSC exams except IES (becoz it needs engineering degree).
