Hello dear student,
It totally depends upon your interest of subjects that what you want to choose . But if you are just referring to upsc then try to take humanities subjects like bachelors in political science, economics, civics, history, also you can take anthropology . Because these subjects you have to study anyways to qualify upsc so why not to study them as your subjects rest you can take any subjects of your choice .
Thank you
Greetings !!
You need to clear UPSC Civil service examination to become IAS officer. You can start preparation as early as possible . I would recommend you to join in a coaching institute and follow a systematic study plan after your 12 th. Now you can concentrate more in your 12th board exams, focus on the current course, if you score better marks in 12th, then only you will be getting admission in Good colleges and that too under " Merit ".
During your college first year on wards , join nearby institute and prepare well. As upsc is not a cake walk, you need to put your heart and soul into the preparation. Stay focused, prepare with dedication, Definitely you will become an IAS officer. I wish You all the success in your future. If any doubts, pls feel free to ask!.
Thank You !!
Hi Pawan,
The UPSC examination is held for recruitment to the various IAS posts in the country. The eligibility criteria for the examination states that a candidate should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree. You can get this Degree in any field and from any recognized University. So, you can definitely go for your Undergraduate Degree from JNU without hurting your chances.
Hi Anand,
The IAS examinations are held in three phases:
Hello Veeresh
Both will help you to achieve for IAS. Talking about the engineering field. There are maths section also which will help you,if you choose engineering. But i would suggest you to do Political science,as it would be more beneficial for you in achieving UPSC exam, because the course in Political Science is much more same as the course in UPSC,like we have to study History,Polity and Geography in both these courses.
Hope This Helps
Best Of Luck!!
Hi,
All have different experiences. For some it might be useful and for some not. But is is not applicable to all.
For IAS you required a bachelors degree. This degree could be from any stream. So it is not necessary to do IAS after engineering. you can do other degree courses and give this exam.
However if you want to give engineering services exam. Then it is correct to do after IAS.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hello Sai,
Once you complete your class 10th, it's absolutely your choice which stream you want to choose. The stream you take doesn't matter as long as you fulfill the eligibility criteria of getting minimum 50% marks in your 10+2 exams including in your graduation too. After you have completed the graduation, you will have to answer an IAS entrance exam which is an entrance exam based on which you will be qualified for further course.
Good luck!
