I have done M Tech in Electronics and Communication. I have to write NET exam. Which one I have to apply for? UGC NET or CSIR net?

Muskan Dhalwal 4th Aug, 2022

Hi,

To appear for CSIR NET, engineering students have to complete their graduation, but for UGC NET, they must complete their MTech from their respective fields.

Since you have done MTech in Electronics and Communication (ECE), you are eligible for both the NET exams.

Some points to note here are-

UGC NET:

* The UGC-NET exam is required to be eligible for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor position at an Indian university.

* Candidates who have earned at least a 55 percent grade point average (PG) or its equivalent from an accredited institution can apply for UGC NET.

* UGC-NET is conducted in 81 subjects mainly for Arts, Commerce and language.

CSIR NET:

* Only 5 disciplines are included on the CSIR-NET exam for students in the science stream.

* MTech Electronics and Communication graduates can apply under CSIR-NET Physical Sciences category.

* To appear for the exam, the candidates must have completed or pursuing the M-Tech degree.

You can apply accordingly along with checking other criteria mentioned in the guidelines. Feel free to ask any more doubts!

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing absolutely great.

So with regard to your query, generally the system will update everything if you had debited your amount. However, if its showing that you did not paid the fee, even if you did that, then it is better for  you to contact the authorities of UGC NET exam which is the NTA agency. So, just contact them for once, and explain your query, they will checkout your position of payment and will guide you further. The site provides various phone number for the purpose of bank which you chose to pay the amount, you can check that directly from the following link: https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/contact-us/ . In case if they do not answer, you can also contact the authorities directly. The contact Number is as follows: 0120-6895200.
