About APPSC Group 2 2023

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission had released the APPSC Group 2 2023 results on April 10, 2024 at psc.ap.gov.in for the screening test. Earlier, the APPSC Group 2 screening test 2023 was conducted on February 25, 2024. The APPSC Group 2 Mains exam will be conducted on July 28, 2024. Candidates who have qualified the screening test, will be attempting the APPSC Group 2 Mains exam. 

The conducting board had released the APPSC Group 2 application form from December 21, 2023 to January 10, 2024. As many as 566 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment exam. According to APPSC Group 2 eligibility criteria 2023, any graduate candidates in the age group of 18 to 42 years is eligible to appear for the exam. Selection of candidates for the respective posts will be done through a screening test, APPSC Group 2 Mains exam and a computer proficiency test (CPT)(for certain posts). Candidates will then be selected based on their performance.

Exam Date

The post-wise eligibility criteria of APPSC Group 2 in terms of educational qualification, nationality and age limit has been prescribed by the examination authority. Candidates willing to apply for APPSC Group 2 must check the below-mentioned eligibility criteria. Candidates who does not meet prescribed eligibility criteria will be rejected from the recruitment exam. 

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria as per Educational Qualification 

The minimum educational qualification as per APPSC Group 2 eligibility criteria is graduation. 

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria as per Age Limit 

The maximum age limit is 42 years while the minimum age limit is 18 years. The upper age limit relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates. 

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria as Physical Measurement 

The physical requirement for men and women is given below. 

For men: 

The height should not be less than 165 cms

For women: 

  • Candidates height must not be less than 152.5 cms.
  • Must not weigh less than 45.5 kgs.

The application form of APPSC Group 2 was released between December 21, 2023 and January 10, 2024. To submit the application, candidates have to pay the requisite examination fees which can be paid through net banking/credit card/debit card. The application processing fee is Rs 250 while examination fee is Rs 80. SC, ST, BC, PH & Ex-Service Men etc are exempted from paying the examination fees

The procedure to apply online for APPSC Group 2 is explained below. 

  • Applicants will have to first create one time profile registration. 
  • For this, candidates will have to enter Aadhaar details, basic details, address, educational qualification and sign the declaration. 
  • Before submitting the details, candidates are advised to read the data entered by them carefully. 
  • Enter the captcha and click on the submit button.
  • Candidate’s reference ID will be created.
  • After the application fee ID will be generated, candidates can pay their fees.,
  • Select the fee payment option - net banking/credit card/debit card.
  • Once candidates pay their fees, the PDF application form will be generated.

The exam pattern of APPSC Group 2 has been prescribed by the examination authority, APPSC. The screening test will carry 150 marks. Questions in the test will asked from General Studies and Mental Ability, Social and Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh and Indian Constitution and Planning and Economy. The screening test will be conducted offline.  

The mains exam will have questions from General Studies and Mental Ability, Social History of Andhra Pradesh & general overiew of the Indian Constitution and Planning in India and Indian Economy Comtemporary problems and developments in Rural Society with special reference to Andhra Pradesh. The mains exam  will carry 300 marks.

The Computer Proficiency test, otherwise known as the Proficiency in Office Automation with usage of Computers and Associated Software carries a total of 100 marks. This test has a duration of 1 hour.

            The APPSC Group 2 admit card will be issued to candidates seven days before the exam. Previously, the APPSC Group 2 screening test admit card was available on February 14, 2024 online. Candidates will have to enter the required credentials to download APPSC Group 2 hall ticket. 

            Candidates will be able to check the exam date, centre, roll number and time of exam in the APPSC Group 2 admit card. For any error in APPSC hall ticket 2023, candidates should inform the helpdesk for correction.

            APPSC will publish the answer key of APPSC Group 2 after the exam. APPSC Group 2 answer key will be available online for all sets of question booklets. Candidates having objection with regard to APPSC Group 2 answer key can submit their representation within one week of the release of answer key. The objection if any will be reviewed by the subject-matter experts and if there are any changes the commission will publish the final APPSC Group 2 answer key.

            The result of APPSC Group 2 will be declared online by APPSC separately in three stages - screening test, mains exam and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). APPSC Group 2 result 2023 of screening test was declared on April 10, 2024. 

            On the basis of candidates performance in screening test, they will be selected for mains examination. APPSC Group 2 2023 result of mains exam will be declared online. Based on the result of mains exam, candidates will be selected for document verification. 

            For certain posts computer proficiency test (CPT) will be conducted which is qualifying in nature. Candidates will be selected for the various posts based on their performance in mains examination. The marks of candidates will be released during the declaration of APPSC Group 2 result and will be available in PDF format.

            The minimum qualifying marks of APPSC mains exam is prescribed by the board as per different categories. The minimum qualifying marks for OC category is 40% while it is 35% for SC category.  The qualifying marks for SC, ST and PH categories is 30%.

            Candidates for various posts under APPSC Group 2 recruitment will be selected based on their performance in the mains examination. APPSC might conduct a screening test if the number of applicants are more than 25000. In case the screening test is conducted, candidates based on their merit will be selected for the mains examination. 

            The ratio of candidates to be selected for the mains examination will be 1:50. If the screening test is not conducted then all the eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the APPSC Group 2 mains examination. 

            Candidates qualifying the APPSC Group 2 mains examination will be called for Computer Proficiency Test or Proficiency in Office Automation with Usage of Computers and Associated Software Test. This test is conducted for certain posts. According to APPSC Group 2 selection process, candidates will  be allotted to various departments as per their rank in the merit list as well as their Zonal Preferences.
