IFS Vs IRS which is better in terms of salary, posting, home, other allowances ?

Hello,

IFS means Indian foreign service and IRS is Indian revenue service. IFS monthly salary is 60 k and IRS monthly salary is 30 to 70k. IFS get house, car , free air travel and IRS get house, car. So this is the main accommodation they both get. Now IFS work for Indian embassy and IRS main work for tax service commission. Both department are good and government service job. Now choice is yours which you want to get join.

Which will be better IPS in rural area or IFS in metropolitan cities ?? If you dont want rural area that much...

Hello,

IPS is Indian police service and IFS is Indian foreign service. If you join IPS then you have to power to change some corruption. You can do better for our country. Infact you will get house, car and others perk as well. Your salary will be 1lkah to 2.5 lakh per month. But your posting in any area rural or city.

Now IFS officer a good position. You can be upgrad your position day by day. Staring salary will be 60k per month. And you get a house, free air travel etc. Amd your posting must be city area occur.

So both department you have to serve for our country. Now if you don't want to go rural area as much then i would suggest you join IFS post. But it's totally your choice, think about it and go for any one.

Where are IFS officers (foreign) posted in India? Is it only in metropolitan cities or can be in rural areas also?

Hello,

Indian foreign service officer is posted as a second secretary in one of the wings like political, economical, commerce, administrative, cultural at an Indian embassy for 3 years. And Indian embassy present always in cities not in rural areas.

Eligiblity for Bank PO exams :

The minimum educational qualification of the candidate must be that of a graduate from a recognized University.Age should be 21-30 (relaxation of 5 years for SC ST).

Eligibility for SSC CGL :

  • Statistical Investigator- Grade B
Bachelors Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th

OR

Bachelors Degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation

  • Assistant Audit Officer
Bachelors Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

OR

CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/Masters in Business Studies
Completed Bachelors Degree from any recognized University or Institution and candidates must have studied either Economics/Statistics/Mathematics as a compulsory or as an elective subject.

  • Assistant Section Officer
Bachelors Degree from a recognized University/Institute

and,

Candidates must also qualify in the Computer Proficiency Test.

how much is the cut-off for ifs

Hello student cut off vary every year on various factors like the level of question in the entrance examination and total number of applicants in that examination. This year the cut off is not released yet but as per previous year records its expected that cutoff for ifs will be around 910 Mark's.

If you choose commerce as your stream you can become an IFS Officer. As a candidate from any stream can apply. But you need to finish your degree to be eligible to apply for IFS exam.

There's no such thing as best degree for UPSC,the reason because in the past years if we look at the top candidates who qualified have been from different background whether it's engineering, arts,medical or anything else. Also, there have been many toppers taking science subjects as optional and still passing the exam.So,taking optional depends to a large extent to one's interest level because it requires a huge level of studies, almost graduate level studies.

Yes, there's no doubt that UPSC is more inclined towards humanities subject whether it's history,geography, economics, polity etc. But,people from different background have qualified this in the past and continue to do so.
