UPSC Civil Services Exam
We are guessing you meant Regional language. Can you help us with some information like the State you hold the domicile of the the gazette that says Regional language exam is not mandatory please? Ideally such rules apply to Candidates who hold the domicile of that State. But please do help us with the gazette link so that we can help you with relevant information.
Hi
You can choose any subject or course of your choice based on your interest after your 10+2 for your graduation,
this is because to be eligible for UPSC or the IAS examination there is no compulsion to be a graduate in a particular subject, all you need to be eligible is that you should be a graduate in any discipline
So you can choose any stream of your interest, but yes if you are interested in Arts then choosing Arts or the humanities can be really helpful for your UPSC or the IAS examination, this is because in Arts you will be learning subjects like history , polity etc which are a part of the UPSC syllabus so it will help you in your upsc examination.
Thank you
Hello aspirant,
There is no such thing that a degree is better than other in terms of cracking UPSC exams and becoming an IAS officer. Regarding your concern for IAS eligibility any bachelors degree from a recognized university of India is accepted.
But the degree which can help you to crack IAS is BA in history or similar subjects as in this course you will be studying 3 to 4 major subjects which will be there in the paper of UPSC so having an upper hand will always help you score good marks.
I hope this helps.
