engineering or political science, which one help more to do IAS?
Hello Veeresh
Both will help you to achieve for IAS. Talking about the engineering field. There are maths section also which will help you,if you choose engineering. But i would suggest you to do Political science,as it would be more beneficial for you in achieving UPSC exam, because the course in Political Science is much more same as the course in UPSC,like we have to study History,Polity and Geography in both these courses.
Hope This Helps
Best Of Luck!!
Is the correct way to do IAS after engineering?
Hi,
All have different experiences. For some it might be useful and for some not. But is is not applicable to all.
For IAS you required a bachelors degree. This degree could be from any stream. So it is not necessary to do IAS after engineering. you can do other degree courses and give this exam.
However if you want to give engineering services exam. Then it is correct to do after IAS.
Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Saikumar,

As the stream is not mentioned, you can do this Bachelor's degree in any field that you may like without it affecting your chances.

IAS also known as Indian Administrative Service is best job in the civil society and to get up to that position people put the most efforts that they can but then also the success rate is just around 1% which means IAS demands a person who can be in that 1% and for that you need to clear your vision and focus on your goal.
UPSC every year conducts exam for Civil Service Examination which consists IAS also.
The eligibility yo become an IAS is that you should be a graduate or in the last year of your graduation and your age should be 21.
Since the syllabus is very vast I would recommend you to go to the official website and download the notification and syllabus and then according to your comfort make you plan and study.
The exam is conducted in two stages
1) Prelims (qualifying nature)
2) Mains and Interview (affect in your ranking)
I hope I was able to clear your query you can ask me again if you want to know anything.
Best of luck for your upcoming future.
