Hello there
Hope you are doing good. See to become an IAS officer you have to qualify upsc cse exam which is of three phases:
1-Preliminary
2-Mains
3-Interview
Now coming into these phases if I tell you the overview then you have to qualify the preliminary exam and it's of qualifying nature in itself only then you can enter into second stage and then the third that's interview.
Now coming to the preparation point of view you have to study some common subjects which mostly comes from the humanities background and then in mains you have to choose your optional paper of any stream.
So in this whole process your past stream doesn't becomes the obstacle from any stream you're you can give this exam.
Best of luck!
Thank you!
Hello.
IAS exam provides a level playing field to all the students with different streams so there is no perfect subject combination that can guarantee success. It's totally about your interest. If you are interested in commerce and want to keep it as a backup option it's a good idea. To excel in upsc exam there are arts subjects like history, geography, economics, sociology have to be studied in detail which form a major chunk of GS1 GS2 GS3 papers.
Commerce is a good optional subject as many toppers have preferred it.
Its totally based on aspirants interests and background. So there's no perfect subject combination.
Hope this helps.
Thanks :)
Hello Aspirant, Hope you are doing well.
There isn't any height , weight and chest girth minimum requirement as such for applicants for the IAS , unlike the technical offerings. However, if the applicants measurements are disproportionate to the scientific board's ,the applicants may be hospotalized for research and a chest X- ray may be taken.
Blood pressure above 140/90 must be subjected to similarly checking out withinside the health centre to examine whether or not the bizarre BP is transient because of excitement, etc.
There must now no longer be any stomach sickness. Candidates with transplantes organs declared undeserving .
Hope this will help you. All the best.

After that complete your graduation in any of the streams which suits you then only you'll be able to give upsc cae exam and after qualifying you would become an IAS officer.
Now coming to the preparation part then preparing for IAS from class 10 onwards is very early. Complete your 12th then from your first year of graduation start preparing for it.
Hoping you are doing good enough in your life. As you must be knowing to be eligible for upsc cse you can be from any stream an can opt out any subject to become an IAS officer.
