Is BA from literature is sufficient for ias exam or any other subject for a pcm student.

SHRUTI MORE 30th Jun, 2019
Hello, I would suggest you to go for some other subject like political science ,economics, sociology, psychology, history, geography etcetera for UPSC as those subjects might help you in your mains and prelims as well, while the language section is only qualifying as you need only 33% in it , so I would suggest you to get into BA Honours of some subject which comprises of UPSC mains subjects or your optional subject. you being a PCM student can also go for BTech as physics, chemistry maths etc. are also available as optional subjects but they might not help you in prelims and mains.
Hope it helps.

Can a candidate prepare for Indian judiciary exam and IAS exam at same time?

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Hi Hammad,

Well, this is a very intricate question that you asked Hammad and I would thus try to answer your question so that you can corroborate the topic.

Firstly what you need to understand that the two exams- the Judiciary Exam and the Civil Services Exam are basically two poles which need an approach in two different directions but then again that doesn't mean that they cannot be prepared at the same time.

The Civil Services Examination is one of the toughest examinations of our country and thus requires an equal amount of effort and dedication in order to pass it with flying colors whereas the Indian Judiciary Exam isn't the toughest but that doesn't indicate that cracking it would be a piece of cake as it covers huge and magnanimous syllabus which requires a lot of effort and time to prepare for.

Hence, in order to do really good, you can prepare for any one of the exams with your utmost diligence, effort, and dedication.

You can prepare for both only under the circumstances that you are exceptionally smart, witty and to some extent lucky.

My elder brother is pursuing B.A. LLB. Five year combined course. is he eligible to enroll in IAS exam.

Prince Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Hey Hammad,

As per as of my information any person with a genuine degree is eligible to appear in UPSC or as you said IAS Exam. Basically if you have studied any bachelor's course. Then you must be eligible for UPSC Exam. And as LLB is all about laws and regulations same is with IAS so I assume your brother is eligible For UPSC.

Best of luck
