Im BE(mech) jobless since 2 yrs,Im average,I hate studies and exams haunt me and even though I want to prepare for exams Im unable to concentrate or focus, I keep on regretting for not preparing for IAS,govt exams etc dont know what to do please help

Parvathi Sreeraj 10th Jan, 2020

Dear user,

First of all, stay motivated and dont lose hopes. It is okay if you haven't prepared or started preparing for competitive examinations. As you mentioned that you hate studies and exams, I am assuming that you wouldn't opt to start off preparations for civil services or government examinations now. Before we dismiss these opinions, let me tell you; competitive examination demand a lot of hardwork. And if you are willing to put in the effort, in a matter of two years (at max, if you put your best foot forward) you will be able to get past it and settle down in life. But if those options are closed, then start from somewhere. Do not sit jobless. Apply for internships, and jobs, and simultaneously consider getting into teaching field.

Now a days, many mechanical engineers are found to be teaching Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at coaching institutions and bagging a good pay. In the era of increasing rush for entrance coaching, teaching is a good alternative.

If not at an institution, start with private tuitions and see if you enjoy teaching and being around youngsters. It could give you real pleasure and a sense of satisfaction, of earning an income.

Go ahead, and make up your mind...

If there is a will, there is a way, and you too will surely find yours.

Cheers!

is that necessary to student in a named university to become ias

rajaman9300 Student Expert 6th Jan, 2020

Hello Jasmine

Name of the University has nothing to do with your Civil Services Examination.

You just need a graduation degree from any University having an NAAC certificate.

Your marks in exam and your presentation in personality test decides everything and yes until you get a call for personality test none knows any details about you such as name ,age, sex or which place you belong to.

after completing MBBS from uttarakhand govt college, during the 5 year bond of rural service if i clears UPSC CSE exam for IAS then will i be allowed to go or not?

Manish Singh 14th Feb, 2020

If the bond you have signed is with a government Institute and if you do clear UPSC then yes you would be allowed to shift. According to government rules if you shift from one job to another that is still part of any central or state government then you don't pay any refund fees

which govt jobs life can be compared to IAS OFFICER life?

Sanjay Khandelwal 3rd Jan, 2020
IAS officer is the top most rank officer in civil services. But there are various services which will give you respect at various level but not that as an IAS officer. You can start for your respective state adminstrative services it's like IAS of state, but this also below an IAS. You can join defence services which are much highly respected and facilities are provided more than an IAS. Through Civil Services exam itself you can choose various group A post which have very good respect for their post like IPS, IES,IFS, IAAS,IRS etc. These are the field where you can apply for exam which are not equivalent but had good respect and facilities like an IAS. Job life for every job is different and varies with the field of service.

what should I do to become IAS..

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd Jan, 2020
Hello Shalu

Shalu, if becoming an IAS officer is your dream then first of all you need to be a graduate in any subject and then you need to appear an examination called UPSC, and it has 3 stages which are listed below :-
  • Preliminary examination (objective )
  • Mains (written).
  • interview/personality test .

And if you managed to clear all the three rounds mentioned above, then congratulations you may become an ias officer.

Becoming an IAS officer is very difficult due to the huge the competition involved, but not impossible if you do hard work  with right attitude and approach. You need to start your preparation for UPSC as soon as possible, you need to start your preparation at least 12 months before the exam date, you can even start your preparation for UPSC while pursuing your graduation as well .

You need to go through the syllabus of UPSC well and ince you complete the whole syllabus you should go for mock tests, you can make a routine and try to give at least 8 hours a day for your upsc preparation and try to religiously follow it and if you remain dedicated towards achieving your goal, you will be able to fulfil your dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Good luck for your upsc preparation

Thankyou
