As per the exam guidelines, candidates can apply for NET exam with subjects in which they have cleared their post-graduation or related to that subject.

According to your subject, you are eligible to apply with CSIR NET Chemical Sciences and CSIR NET Life Sciences.

Physical Sciences would be the closest to what you can choose in NET according to your specialisation in Masters. However, it would be a bit difficult to prepare specially if you have lost touch to rest of Physics. I would suggest you to take coaching, plan out your study

Since their are a total of 81 subjects t apply for UGC NET 2019, your most preferable subject to apply for the post of Assistant professor or fellowship in Indian governmet institutions will be Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering which is available in UGC NET as well as CSIR NET.

To be eligible for UGC NET for any subject , one needs to have passed Master's Degree in the concerned subject with 55% from a recognized University, there's relaxation for reserved category. PG Diplomas aren't considered equivalent to Master Degree Program nor it's a substitute for it.
