  • A masters degree with 55% above for students of general category.
  • while 50% in masters degree for students of reserved category.
  • also there isn't any age criteria for NET.

Yes, you are eligible for ugc net environmental science

candidates required to pass masteer degree with atleast 55 percent marks for general category


50 percent minimum marks required for sc/st/obc category

For assistant professor there is no age bar but for jrf you must be under 30 years of age.age relaxation is given to reserved category.

if someone completed post graduation in pharmacy field and give exam of ugc net in sociology ?????

Hello Student,

Candidates need to have minimum 50% marks in their Masters degree (sociology and preferably related subjects). Social Science, electronic science, Computer Science and Applications and students from humanities are eligible for the UGC NET sociology.

Entrance exam is conducted for the students who want to take admission in a college or University. As per the performance of the candidates in the M.A qualifying examination the admission for Phd is done after filling the application form, the interview/counseling are conducted for the candidates.

I am a post graduate in education from ignou. then what cgpa filled in ugc net form, while our grade is "c" and overall point 3.28 and percentage is 58,but total cgpa is not mention in marks , in net form maximum grade point, cgpa obtain and cgpa ,collum will be filled in educational details,

Since the overall point that you have got is a GPA score you can convert it into CGPA score and enter the marks. The 3.28 GPA is equivalent to 7.7 CGPA thus enter that. Maximum CGPA is 10 and maximum GPA is 4

Is CSIR -UGC NET and UGC NET are different

No. Both are different. One can enroll for PhD through CSIR NET. programs across the country but limited to ICAR NET having eligibility criteria for lectures in agricultural universities. Also, CSIR NET is a tough nut to crack. Best wishes!

can i sit for UGC net examination after completing master in hotel management?

Not fully sure, but according to the University Grants Commission policies, you are eligible for taking UGC NET examination. This is because of the following reasons:

  • You must have completed your masters in social science computer science or applications electronic science etc from a recognised University.
  • You must have scored at least 55% marks in the aggregate for being eligible for University Grants Commission National eligibility test.
  • If your result is still awaited of master's degree, even then you can give University Grants Commission National eligibility test.

However there are no details mentioned that masters in hotel management students can appear or not for UGC NET examination. However you can contact the the University Grants Commission for asking the same information.
