Hi,
The eligibility for NDA to join the Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:
Candidates must have passed the Class 12th exam in the 10+2 pattern of schooling or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics administered by a State Education Board or a University.
There will not be any problem while applying to Airforce with applied mathematics as a subject since you only need to prepare mathematics according to the syllabus.
Hii aspirant!
First of all if you are student of science that is your prime subjects includes
Physics
Chemistry
Maths
The above mentioned three subjects are mandatory for the NDA examinations. Rest your optional subjects are not a matter of concern.
If you are thinking about the posts and its specification then it's quite huge in dynamics and mainly depends upon individual's performance. So you better start preparing yourself for the written examination first which is proceeded with medical checkup and interview.
Since you are a science student, you must be studying Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as your core subjects along with your additional subjects Geography and Biology. Therefore you can surely apply for NDA.
These are the qualifications that are required for the following specified posts -
- NDA Qualification for Army wing : Passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- NDA Qualification for Air Force and Naval wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet entry scheme at INA : Passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Candidates who are taking their Class 12 or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply for the NDA exam.
- There is no 12th percentage NDA eligibility. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam are eligible to apply for the exam.
You can definitely apply for all the wings including Army Wing, Air Force and Naval Wing. All the best for when you give it a shot at NDA!
Hope you are doing well
NDA/NA Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice a year in the month of april and december to select young boys and girls in indian armed forces as officers.
You can be called to one of the few AFSB centres.
