For AFCAT exam as per the criteria of aggregate 60% each in Physics and maths I have 82% in maths and 58% in physics. Am I eligible for the exam?

theeanonymous 16th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

In AFCAT. Fyling branch, Ground duty(technical) and Ground duty (non-technical) are the 3 posts you can apply for.

As far as the educational qualification is concerned , for flying duty , candidates must have passed Class 12 with 60% in Maths and Physics and graduated in any discipline/BE/BTech/Cleared section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.

For Ground Duty (technical) -Candidates must have completed Class 12 with 60% in Physics and Mathematics and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology from recognized university.

Or,

Should have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60% in computer, electrical, electronics ,instrumentation & control or IT  specializations in engineering.

So without 60% in both math and physics in class 12 ,you are not eligible to apply for technical posts.

On the other hand ,

For Ground Duty (non-technical)

The educational requirements are as follows:

Administration and Logistics( Anyone)

Bachelor's degree (three years) from a recognised university in any discipline with at least 60% or equivalent

OR

Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India)/Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with 60%.

Logistics: Any one of the following

Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

or

Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

Hence , you can apply for ground duty (non-technical) posts.

i am in B.Sc. finel year How much do I write the percentage of Graduation in application form

theeanonymous 12th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

I assume that you are asking about AFCAT application. In that case , for graduation , being a final student, you can write the marks or percentage secured by you till the previous semester or year means if it is a 3 year course then enter the percentage secured till the 4th semester or 5th semester (if it has been declared). If it is CGPA then you have to convert into percentage .  Only unmarried candidates between the age of 20-24 are eligible to apply. Also note that you should not have any  backlogs at the time of AFSB Testing and should produce the degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the notification.

i am in B.Sc. finel year and i am applying for AFCAT Form but How much do I write the percentage of graduation

Sharon Rose Student Expert 11th Jan, 2021

Hello,

Candidates who are in final year of the qualifying exam must enter their aggregate percentage until the semester or year for which the results were declared. If it is 3 year B.Sc then you need to enter the aggregate percentage that you have scored until 2nd year or 4th semester whichever is applicable (or 5th semester if the results are declared). If CGPA is given then you need to convert it into percentage as per the formula specified by your institute or university. If there is no formula then you need to multiply the CGPA obtained by the maximum CGPA and multiply it with 100 and obtain the percentage.
