I had completed my BSC with 61% and also my age is 23+ but still in afcat form it is showing that Im not eligible. Please help me.Thank you

Karam Vir 23rd Dec, 2020

Hi,

As per the official notification, for Ground branch Candidate must be born between 1 January, 1996 to 1 January 2002. For flying branch, candidates must be born between 1 January 1998 to 1 January 2002. You have mentioned that your age is more than 23, but not have specified the number. If your age is between 20-24 then only you can appear for AFCAT. During the time of joining, candidates must be 24 or less. Maybe during the training time you will exceed the age limit that may be the reason for non-eligibility. You can look for ground duty.

Which is the correct option (graduate level A, GraduateB, graduate,C, graduate D) for Bsc with math(hons) candidates to apply AFCAT( non-technical)?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 21st Dec, 2020

Hello,

You should choose graduate D in the field of 'select graduation level' in AFCAT online application form. You can also check the courses which comes under each graduate classification by clicking on view details beside the 'select graduation level'. After selecting that you need to manually enter the qualification degree which B.Sc (Hons) after that you need to enter the qualification stream which is Maths.

How can I prepare for Maths of AFCAT?

Pakshal Ghiya 19th Dec, 2020

Well level of mathematics in AFCAT is not difficult. But there are some calculative questions are asked but you can eliminate them by approximation.

Considering if you are beginner and starts from zero then you should start preparing each topic one by one from youtube. You don't need to bother about whether teacher is of defence background or not you just need to complete each topic. One important thing is you don't need to prepare for advance math basic arithmetic is more than enough. Complete the syllabus as early as possible and start practicing for that .

All The Best.

What is the difference between INET and AFCAT? Which one is more difficult?

Pakshal Ghiya 19th Dec, 2020

Hello,

INET stands for - Indian Navy Entrance Test.

AFCAT stands for - Air Force Common Admission Test.

as name suggest - 1st one is for Navy & later one is for Air force.

Syllabus wise no major difference. Nearly same.

Rather, I found INET easier as compared to AFCAT.

I completed my graduation Bsc in life science with more than 60% but my 12th percentage is below 60...and d.o.b is 04.04.1996...while filling afcat form...shows that not eligible for exam ....whats the reason behind this?

U. Janani 19th Dec, 2020

Hi Prema!

The Age Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT Flying Branch is between 20-24 years of age as of January, 2022. That you must be born between January 2, 1998 and January 1, 2002. So, you will not be eligible for this category!

For Ground Duty, your age should be between 20-26 years of age as of January 1, 2022. You must be born between January 2, 1996 and January 1, 2002. So, for this you are eligible!

When it comes to Education, you should have 60% in Physics and Maths in 12th and B.E/B.Tech or a minimum of 4 year degree for qualification! Or B.Sc. in Finance. If these didn't match then, that might have been the problem!

Hope this is helpful!

All the best!

sir kindly tell me, Am I eligible for CDS-2, 2021( my date of birth is 25 /03/1996) , I am a female candidate, want to apply CDS -2 and AFCAT -2 , KINDLY Guide me 🙏🙏

Karam Vir 15th Dec, 2020

Hi,

Under CDS, female candidates are only eligible for training in OTA(Officers Training Academy, Chennai). So, for OTA the female candidates need to be between 19-25 years of age. Also, the female candidates need to be either unmarried, widow or divorced. While, joining the academy, you must be 25 years of age. So, if during joining time, your age will be more than 25 years of age, you will be no longer eligible.

For AFCAT, female candidates age should be between 20-24 years for sitting into the AFCAT examination. If, you sit for AFCAT, next year, you will not be eligible for it.
