i want to apply for afcat my score 12th math:-46,& physics:-44,but i am pursuing be/btech is there any possibility for me..?

anirudha vats 23rd Feb, 2021

Hey,

Sorry to say aa per the eligibility criteria for AFCAT exam, students should have Maths and Physics in class 12th and should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in bothe the paper separately. As your scores are below 50% , so you will not be able to sit for the AFCAT exam.

Alternatively you can sit for CDS exam if you are so much dedicated to go to Air Force academy.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

sir if a candidate cleared the afcat exam and the marks obtained by him is equal to cut off. so, is there is any chance of selection if he attends and clear the ssb.

Shrishty sahu 15th Feb, 2021

Dear student,

If you just cross the afcat exam at it's cut iff then you will have to appear for ssb interview in which your overall preparation is observed. If you perform exceptionally well in the interview then there are chances that you might be selected because, marks of a candidate matters and if you haven't scored well then it will be a drawback for you. In the interview, the panel would be impressed by somebody who has secured higher marks but don't lose hope, you still hace chances, just give your best at the interview.

i have a 60.62% marks in 12th science so....can i apply for cds and afcat examination.. .

Koustav Dey 11th Feb, 2021

Hello,

You need to hold a graduation degree in order to apply for both of the CDS and AFCAT exam. Your class 12th marks won't pose any hindrance.

The education qualification needed for CDS are:

  • For I.M.A. and OTA, candidates should have a bachelor's degree from a university or equivalent degree from institutions that have been recognized by the Central/State Government.

  • For INA candidate needs to have a Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/institution.

  • Also, to apply to Air Force Academy, the candidates need a degree from a recognized university( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2) or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Also, apart from educational eligibility criteria, you also need to fulfill the other criteria to be eligible. Check the link below for more information regarding this

HI Aspirant,

Please go through the admit card and the documents given to you since there the slot alloted to you is already mentioned.Students can appear in the paper only during the shift allotted to them, specifically. They cannot appear at another shift timing. If one does so, their candidature will not be considered. You need to appear atleast 15 minutes before the reporting time.

i got 65% in class 12 th with 45 marks in maths and 60 marks in physics am i eligible for flying or technical post in afcat

theeanonymous 25th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

The educational criteria for flying branch is a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and graduation with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline or B.Tech from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or should have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

For ground duty technical post, the eligibility is a minimum of 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level along with a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology preferably electronic or mechanical from a recognized University .

So basically you need 60% or above in both math and physics to be eligible for both .

Jains comes under which category for AFCAT exam? And what is the age limit for AFCAT-Flying Branch?

Guljabin Quadri 26th Feb, 2021

Hello,

Jainism is considered as a minority group in India but they are not entitled with reservation. Therefore, their cutoff is same as a General category student for any entrance exam. For AFCAT exam as per the criteria of aggregate 60% each in Physics and maths I have 82% in maths and 58% in physics. Am I eligible for the exam?

theeanonymous 16th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

In AFCAT. Fyling branch, Ground duty(technical) and Ground duty (non-technical) are the 3 posts you can apply for.

As far as the educational qualification is concerned , for flying duty , candidates must have passed Class 12 with 60% in Maths and Physics and graduated in any discipline/BE/BTech/Cleared section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.

For Ground Duty (technical) -Candidates must have completed Class 12 with 60% in Physics and Mathematics and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology from recognized university.

Or,

Should have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60% in computer, electrical, electronics ,instrumentation & control or IT  specializations in engineering.

So without 60% in both math and physics in class 12 ,you are not eligible to apply for technical posts.

On the other hand ,

For Ground Duty (non-technical)

The educational requirements are as follows:

Administration and Logistics( Anyone)

Bachelor's degree (three years) from a recognised university in any discipline with at least 60% or equivalent

OR

Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India)/Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with 60%.

Logistics: Any one of the following

Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

or

Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

Hence , you can apply for ground duty (non-technical) posts.
