Rihana Roshan 1st Sep, 2021

Hi there,

In order to to be eligible for AFCAT, there are certain physical requirements. You need to be physically fit. At the same time, your height must be at least 162.5 cm if you want to join the flying branch.  But for AFCAT ground batch, the minimum height is 152 cm.

So, you are not eligible for the AFCAT flying branch.

I have applied for flying branch and non techinal ground duty for afcat exams ,but according to my qualifications i had to choose one ekt paper, so is it necessary to clear ekt to go for above branches?? since i have done my engg. i had to choose one ekt subject ,but i dont want join technical !!

Atul Singh 20th Aug, 2021

Dear Student,

It is compulsory to give the EKT exam if you have done engineering and have chosen any technical ground duty and also compulsory to clear both AFCAT and EKT in the same attempt.

As you have done engineering that's why he is asking to choose one of the EKT branch and if you want to go into flying branch then then there is no need to clear the ERK exam, EKT is only for Ground duty candidates. AFCAT is enough to be a flying officer in Indian Airforce.

Good Luck :)
