present i was in 5th sem in btech when should I start preparing for CDS exam

Shivanshu 27th Jan, 2024

Dear aspirant !

Hope you are doing well !

From my point of view you should start preparing from now ,also you are late ,you must start your preparation in the 2nd year but you didn't,cds takes time and it's not an easy task to do . Now you have to prepare for your placement also . If you want job from college then it will be hard for you to manage both ,choose only one and stick with that and prepare very hard for the dream . Don't late now .

Those who want to take the CDS exam in 2024 need to start planning their study. Candidates must allot the same amount of time to each of the exam's topics. Completing the CDS syllabus 2024 on time is also beneficial. The study plan aids in maintaining goal concentration as well.

Im born in june and birth year is 2003 for me how many attempts will be there for cds exam?

Sajal Trivedi 10th Jan, 2024

Hello aspirant,

Regarding your inquiry, I'm happy to let you know that the minimum age to take the CDS exam is 19 years old, and the maximum age varies between 22 and 24 years old depending on the field, such as the Indian Military Academy or the Air Force. You can anticipate that 2027 will be your final attempt year for the CDS exam since, based on your date of birth, you will turn 24 in that year. So you can give around 4 attempts.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

I have accidentally uploaded my signature and photos in the opposite way in CDS 1 2024, is it anyhow possible for me to change it?

Tanya Gupta 26th Jan, 2024

Hello,

In the correction window, the candidates can edit their CDS 1 application form from January 10 to 16, 2024. The candidates who have registered for the CDS for the first time can modify their profile on the UPSC's official website which will happen once in a lifetime....between January 10 to 16, 2024. However, the date has already gotten over so it's not possible to do it anymore.

Hope this helps,

Thank you

I was born on 12-07-1999 and I want to apply for CDS 1 OTA (Female) and as I have checked so many sites it says there eligibility for OTA is 25years and I am very confused, please guide me.

Sonai Biswas 7th Feb, 2024

Unfortunately you are not eligible for the CDS 1 2024 exam. According to the notification released by UPSC for CDS 1 2024, the DOB should be no earlier than 2nd January, 2000 and the no later than 1st January 2006. In other words your DOB should fall in between these dates. As it is not the case you won't be able to apply for the exam. There is a misinformation circulating across the internet that the age limit for appearing on the CDS written exam is under 25, which is not true. Rather you should be under 25 when joining the academy. As the OTA courses start roughly a year after the written exam, technically to apply for CDS you should be under 24 at that moment. You can anyway check this with the website where you apply online, if you put your DOB, it will show you are not eligible.
