Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will release the UP Judicial Service notification 2023 on the official website. Along with the notification, the commission will also release the UPJudicial Service application form 2023 in online mode. Candidates who fulfill the minimum eligibility will be able to apply for the UP PCS J exam 2023. Along with the notification the total number of vacancies, eligibility criteria, and other important details will be announced by the commission.
UP Judicial Service Civil Judge (Junior Division) Examination is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) for recruitment of Civil Judges (Group B Gazetted) in district courts of the state. The selection procedure of UP PCS J comprises – Preliminary, Mains Exam, and Interview. On the basis of the total marks obtained by candidates in the mains examination and interview, they will be selected for the posts.

The eligibility criteria of UP PCS J will be announced by UPPSC along with the official notification. UP PCS J eligibility criteria provide details regarding age, educational qualification, nationality which are required to be fulfilled by candidates in order to apply for the exam. The detailed eligibility criteria of UP PCS J is given below.

The age of candidates should be between 22 to 35 years as on July 1. Candidates can check below the category-wise relaxation of age. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved category.
Only online applications are accepted for the recruitment exam. While filling UP PCS J application form, candidates will have to submit the prescribed examination fees which can be paid through NET Banking, Card Payments, and Other Payment modes. For general and OBC category, the examination fee is Rs. 125 while it is Rs 65 for SC/ST. The application form comprises two parts – Candidate Registration and Submit Application Form. The detailed procedure to fill UP PCS J application form is explained below.
How to fill UP PCS J Application Form?
Candidate Registration Part
Click on ‘Apply’ button it will take you to ‘Candidate Registration’.
In registration form, candidates will have to enter personal information like type of recruitment, name, father’s/husband’s name, UP domicile, category, sub-category, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact number, email ID, qualification details and other relevant information.
After entering verification code, candidates will have to click on ‘Submit’ button provided at the bottom of the page.
In the second page, the 11 digit registration number will be displayed.
Application Form Part
Candidates will have to fill the payment details while filling Part II of online application form.
To pay the fees, candidates will have to go to ‘Fee deposition/reconciliation’ and enter the registration number, date of birth and gender and then click to proceed for payment option.

To complete the online application form, click on ‘Submit Application Form’
A page will open that will ask for registration number, fee details, scanned photograph and signature, some personal details that candidates have filled during registration process.
After this, click on submit button and candidates will be moved to next page where they will have to fill all information to complete the application process.
Candidates have to agree with the contents of declaration by clicking ‘I Agree’ button. Candidates application form will be submitted.
Candidates selected for the mains exam based on their marks in the preliminary examination can fill up the application form for appearing in the exam. Examination fees for mains exam are Rs 225 for general, OBC of UP and candidates of other states while it is Rs 105 for SC and ST of UP. Candidates will have to enclose self-attested copies of marksheets and other certificates along with the application form of mains exam.
The exam pattern of UP PCS J provides details regarding marking scheme, total marks and time duration. Candidates should check UP PCS J exam pattern before starting preparation since it will help them to understand the overall structure of the exam. The exam pattern of UP PCS J comprises two papers – Paper I (General Knowledge) and Paper II (Law). Each paper will be held for 2 hours. Maximum marks allotted to paper I is 150 while Paper II will carry 300 marks. All questions in the test will be objective type. For each wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted. The exam will be conducted offine. This paper include questions from History of India and Indian Culture, Geography of India, Indian Polity, Current National Issues and topics of Social relevance, India and the world, Indian Economy, International Affairs and Institutions and development in the field of Science and Technology, Communications and Space.
The mains examination will be conducted offline. According to UP PCS J exam pattern for mains exam, the test will comprise five papers – Paper I (general Knowledge), Paper II ( language), Paper III (Law I: Substantive law), Paper IV (Law-II:Procedure and Evidence), Paper V (Law-III: Penal, Revenue and Local Laws). Each paper of UP PCS J will carry 200 marks. Candidates have the choice to answer General Knowledge and Law Papers either in Hindi or in English. The interview will carry 100 marks.

The admit card of UP PCS J will be released in three phases- Preliminary, Mains and Interview. First, UPPSC will release UP PCS J admit card for preliminary examination for candidates who will successfully register for the exam. UP PCS J admit card will be released online for all the stages. To download the admit card, candidates will have to enter the required login credentials. The admit card will carry details related to the date, time and centre of exam. After downloading the admit card, if candidates find any error on the same should inform the examination officials for correction. Candidates should bring the printed copy of UP PCS J admit card along with at least one identity proof to the exam centre for verification process.
UP PCS J admit card for mains exam will be issued to candidates qualifying the preliminary examination. Candidates who will qualify the mains exam will be issued admit card for appearing in the interview.
The answer key of UP PCS J will be released few days after the exam. UP PCS J answer key will be available online. Using UP PCS J answer key, candidates will be able to check the correct answers asked in the exam. Based on the number of correct and incorrect answer, candidates can calculate probable score.
UPPSC will announce UP PCS J result separately for preliminary, mains and final. The result will be available online for all stages. UP PCS J result will display the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates score of preliminary examination will be calculated out of 450. The marks obtained in Paper I and II of Preliminary examination will be added to calculate the UP PCS J result. The score of candidates will be determined by deducting the penalty for wrong answers. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in the preliminary examination to clear the exam. The marks of preliminary examination will not be considered for the final merit list.
UP PCS J result of mains exam will be declared based on the marks secured by candidates in all papers. The marks of mains exam will be counted for the final merit list. On the basis of the marks secured in mains exam, candidates will be selected for the Interview. The marks obtained in the interview will be added to the written papers of the mains. Candidates rank in the final merit list will be determined based on the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in both in mains exam and interview.
The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. In the preliminary and mains exam, candidates will have to secure the minimum qualifying marks as per their category which is SC, ST is 30 %. The qualifying marks for other categories is 40 %. These candidates will be considered for the merit list only if they secure the minimum qualifying marks.

Hi Rajat,
Hope you are doing well!! There are total of four attempts for a candidate between the age of 21 - 30 years for UP PCS J examination. For SC/ST candidates there is no limited attempts they can appear for it as many times as they want till the age of 35 years.
