Hii Aneeswari!
The eligibility criteria for applying into UPSC exam or to become an IAS officer states that the Candidate must have completed graduation degree from a recognised university in any subject.  The candidate must be atleast 21 years in age and the upper age limit is 32 years , for general category Candidates. So, if you satisfy this criteria and clear the exam and interview, you will become an IAS.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

lm interested in agricultural studies after bsc in agriculture I have to IAS exam or higher studies in agriculture which is better option with high salary?

pdwords Student Expert 21st Apr, 2020

Hello,

See,UPSC Is one of the most prestigious service in our country, so if you want to go ahead with this choice you should,as people from different stream apply for this exam and qualify. This is also one of the toughest exam, the syllabus is so vast and extensive, so here lies the uncertainty factor. But,then if you prepare with full focus and determination, plan your targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, you can definitely qualify, the key to succeed here is perseverance because UPSC exam will take two years, one year for preparation and another for appearing for the exam namely Preliminary, Mains and Interview.

You can also go for higher studies by doing MSc and qualifying NET or SET to become Assistant Professor, this will also give you good pay package. Else, you can do MBA in the related field, there are lots of opportunities in private and government sectors as well.

It's always good to have a back up plan for UPSC, in case you're not sure right now go for higher studies and gain experiences in your domain and then decide, there have been many people who have worked few years after completing their studies, gained experiences and then tried for UPSC.

Akram Khan 19th Apr, 2020

Hi,

The civil services exam is conducted by upsc for IAS officer post. The educational eligibility to appear for UPSC exam is graduation from any discipline.

So you can do B.Sc agriculture or any other graduation course which you like. After completing the undergraduate degree you will be eligible to give the exam. You can start your preparation from 11th also. It is good to start the preparation early as the syllabus for exam is vast and includes various subjects.

All the best.

Hope this helps.

Hi

If you want to become an IAS officer then first of all you need to be a graduate in any subject and then you need to appear in one of the toughest examination called UPSC, and it has 3 stages which are listed below :-

  • The first stage of the exam is Preliminary examination (objective )

  • The second stage, Mains (written).

  • If you manage to clear both prelims and mains then you are to go through interview/personality test .

And if you managed to clear all the three rounds mentioned above, then congratulations you may become an ias officer.

I am planning to pursue ba.bed. integrated course but after that i want to fight ias exam . so integrated course can create any problem in it .????

pdwords Student Expert 16th Apr, 2020
Hello,

As far as eligibility criteria goes for UPSC, pursuing BA-BEd will definitely make you eligible, it's not going to create any problems because in your graduation course you'll study combination of arts subjects along with education. There are many candidates belonging to engineering, medical, commerce etc background which goes against humanities oriented UPSC exam but they still
crack this exam,so what really matters is your planning and preparation, and it's good to have a back up plan, you can also pursue teaching ahead, gain some experience and afterwards can appear for UPSC.

hello sir/maam,,,,im a Btech and Mtech , please tell me is this possible without CSAT ,diract IAS.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 16th Apr, 2020

Irrespective of your qualification, Prelims, Mains and Personal Round of Interview are the only ways that some is selected for UPSC positions and in a way to become an IAS officer, that is the only route out. There is no short cut out there even if you have a MTech. CSAT is the 2nd paper of Prelims. UPSC Prelims has 2 papers. Paper 1 covers Current Events, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and   Social Development, General Issues on Environmental ecology, General Science.

Paper 2 covers Comprehension, Interpersonal skills including communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving, General Mental Ability and basic numeracy numbers.

And clearing Prelims is important for entering Mains and Clearing Mains is mandatory for being selected for Personal Round of Interview.

pdwords Student Expert 13th Apr, 2020
Hello,

See,the hours of study differ among aspirant as the upsc syllabus is so vast,an aspirant has to tackle many a things, apart from newspaper reading on a daily basis, there's Prelims and Mains syllabus to cover,so you have to make your schedule accordingly how it suits you, and coming to your query regarding marhs and reasoning, the CSAT paper in prelims has this, you have to attain 33% only in CSAT to qualify it out of 200 marks, prelims has two paper, each of 200 marks for which Mark's aren't added in the final selection.
