Dear candidate, Basic salary of an IAS Officer according to 7th Pay Commission is Rs 56,100 to Rs 2,50,000. The allowances given to IAS officer are:

  • Residence : IAS officers generally get huge houses as residences on very low or no rent. They also can avail of the services of maids, cooks, gardeners, security guards, etc.
  • Transport: They are allotted one or more vehicles for official purposes.
  • Security: IAS officers are provided with security guards for themselves and even their family.
  • Bills: They generally get free or highly subsidised electricity, water, gas and phone connections.
  • Trips: IAS officers enjoy subsidised accommodation in government guest houses or bungalows when on official or non-official trips. When visiting Delhi, they can avail of accommodation in their State Bhavans.
  • Study Leaves : IAS officers can also go for study leaves for 2 years. They can even undergo courses at reputed foreign universities. The cost of such courses will be undertaken by the government. Of course, there are restrictions on this facility. Only officers who have completed 7 years of service (6 years for North-East Cadres) are allowed this facility. They should also sign a bond that they would serve the government in their capacity as IAS officers for a certain number of years after they return.
  • Job Security : IAS officers have enviable job security. It is not easy to fire an officer and the process requires extensive investigations and inquiries.
  • Lifetime Pension

which graduation degree is best to become a IAS officer

Hello,

There is no such thing as best degree for appearing in UPSC exam, the eligibility criteria itself states candidates need to pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, however if you pursue bachelor's degree in political science, economics, geography, sociology, history, public administration etc what helps in this case is there is considerable overlap with the syllabus of general Studies and optional subjects, other than this as I said there is no such barrier to belong to specific stream, if you look at previous year toppers they come from as diverse backgrounds as that of medical/engineering/science/commerce etc, hence you can choose to appear for UPSC with or without back up plan, the rest is up to you.

To become an IAS officer you need to crack the Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

After passing this exam you can become an IAS officer.

Eligibility criteria for this exam is as follows:

The minimum age criteria is at least 21 years of age.

The maximum age limit for the general the category is 32 years, OBC category is 35 years and for SC/ST category is 37 years.

You will be eligible for the exam only after completing the graduation in any field from a recognised university.

To join the Indian Administrative service (IAS) you must qualify in the civil services examination conducted by the union public service commission of india (UPSC). This exam is conducted annually in may/June. The exam will have three rounds

Vision ias is almost 1.25 lakh and 1.75 lakh

Next ias is almost 1.22 lakh and 1.42 lakh and also scholar scholarships  are available .

IAS:

  • IAS officers deal with Public Administration and Policy Formulation and Implementation.
  • The training session for IAS officers is held at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) located in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
  • The topmost position of all the administrative services.
  • Candidates who hold the topmost rank are allotted IAS.
  • It has more powers than IPS officers.

IPS:

  • IPS officers are charged with investigating crime and maintaining public order in the area where they are posted.
  • IPS Officers are trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) located in Hyderabad, Telangana
  • After the allotment for IAS is done other top rank holders are allotted IPS
  • Second in Rank after the IAS
  • It has less powers than IAS.

I have prepare Upsc but how to start what us basic and which is concept

Greetings of the day dear aspirant!

The most important thing to understand is whether you are interested or not. Studying for getting good results will motivate the individual but the procedure is somehow difficult for many. So I would suggest you follow these steps for acing the exam.

  • Make a fixed timetable with all standard books required for UPSC.
  • Stick to the timetable and follow by heart.
  • Daily read newspapers and practise various types of questions for a better understanding of concepts.
  • Read the topics daily in the morning Jn which you are lagging.
  • Strengthen your foundation and write the answers with accuracy and good handwriting.
  • Solve the questions within the time limit as it will help you in competing in the examination.
  • Study daily for 7-8 hours and gradually increase when the examination is near.

Motivate yourself and Practice meditation. Also, eat healthily to stay fit and fine.
