UPSC Civil Services Exam
Hello there
Good to see that you want to become an IAS officer after your graduation and you want to prepare for UPSC CSE. Now you must be knowing to give UPSC CSE you must have an undergraduate degree in whichever stream from any recognised University and that's you are having in BSC nursing. So yes you are finally fine the minimum eligibility criteria and you can appear in UPSC CSE.
As you might be knowing that UPSC CSE is consisting of three stages:
And after qualifying these three stages if you got your name in the merit list then you would be getting the rank according to your index number and also the different posts.
Now the basic thing comes that from which step you should start your UPSC CSE preparation. As you are from Science background so I think you are having some lack in Humanities subject,so the first step is very important is you must have to clear your basics for which you can refer to NCERT books up 6th to 12th and it's suppose you are finding it very easy then you can leave some books also.
After completing your basics you must switch to some standard books for preliminary examination and about these things like syllabus you can find from UPSC CSE website also.
Start your preparation from now onwards as it is the best time to start UPSC CSE because you have completed your graduation and I hope you can excel in it.

Best of luck!
Thank you!
Good to see that at a very early age you are determined to crack UPSC CSE examination in your first attempt.
And i would suggest you to firstly complete your class 11th and 12th with good academic grades as they matters a lot and do that stream in which you feel interested and can give much of the time.
You can start your better preparation from your graduation onwards but still if you want to prepare from class 11 onwards when you can firstly clear your basics of NCERT from 6th to 12th level as they are very much important for the preliminary examination as you must be knowing. As this would be enough because you have to maintain your class 11th and 12th grades to so firstly do this thing and from your first year of graduation you can start with some standard books and can excel in your preparation.
Firstly, lets clear a very old misconception. Having a BA degree don't help you to get a UPSC job instead its all about your preparation. If you see the past year statistics then you will find that there are toppers of UPSC who are from engineering background or medical background. So in order to crack UPSC you should have the courage to prepare well as well as you should be very keen about your interest. If your UG subject becomes burden for you then the habit of learning gets hampered and as a result, a student can't prepare well.
So you should take BA if you are interested in arts else its better to take a subject of your interest as UPSC didn't have any subject specification, all you need to have is a bachelors degree.
Now Bachelor of Arts is a 3 year Undergraduate degree program in Arts which in detailed studies the appreciation and the sense under the arts. For example, in english literature, they learn the Psychology of the writer, the portions of life which the author have portrayed and what does that mean etc. So Arts is all about interpretation. You give a red stroke on a white canvas and you can image it to be the redness of rose petals or the blood. And the way you should decide the meaning is a relative thing. But Arts try to figure out the beauty not only as a stimuli but also a thought process and the reason what it is the underlying thought process that makes the artist to portray a beauty be it a story or a drawing or a sculpture etc.
Above I have just provided the analysis of Arts and what role it play. If you want to know more about the academic regions of arts then follow the link below:

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
