I got 46%in graduation . Am i eligible for IAS?

Ankhi Banerjee 11th Sep, 2019

Hi,

There is no aggregate percentage required to score in your graduation to be eligible for IAS examination. You only need to possess a graduation certificate from a recognised university to be allowed for the entrance examination. You must also be atleast 21 years of age for taking this examination though the upper age limit is 32 years which is subject to relaxation for 3-5 years depending on the reserved categories. If you possess the details said, then you will be eligible for IAS examination.

i have diploma certificateof polytechnic from ECE can i apply for IAS

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 7th Sep, 2019

Hello there!

Greetings!

I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but with just diploma degree you are not eligible for UPSC exam ( exam by which you can become an IAS officer ).

The minimum educational qualification for UPSC exam is that a candidate must hold a degree from any university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament, or declared to be deemed as a university under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

SO if you want to give upsc exam and want to become an ias officer then you need to complete you graduation first so that you become eligible for upsc.

thankyou
