IBPS, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an autonomous recruitment body established with an end goal to recruit potential/well-qualified candidates for the banking sector in India. IBPS is mainly focused on conducting competitive exams for banking sector recruitment and placement. This recruitment body conducts 5 selection examinations every year - Bank PO, Clerk and Specialist officers for Public-Sector Banks. Some of the top participating Banks in IBPS Exams are Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, Vijaya Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank and more. IBPS PO exam has three selection process; Prelims, Mains and Interview.
Prelims exam is an objective (Multiple Choice Questions) type of test consist of 100 questions. In Prelims, there are 3 sections; Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
Mains Exam is the toughest yet crucial round of IBPS PO exam. The latest examination pattern (2017) has 5 sections; Reasoning and computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, General Banking Awareness alongside Descriptive test which includes Letter Writing & Essay.
Interview round is the final round of the selection process. In this round, candidates who qualified Prelims exam will appear for a face-to-face interview with a panel of bank officials.
The applicants ought to be between 20 to 30 years of age. Age relaxation of 5 years for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 3 years' relaxation for Other Backward Class (OBC) as per the government norms. Graduation degree from a recognized university is mandatory.

for SSC CGL, bank PO and IBPS PO you only need to have a graduation certificate from any recognised university or college as educational eligibility,
which has to show at the time of document verification when you clear all tiers of these exams.

sorry, it is not possible to become sbi po through ibps po exam, because sbi po exam is conducted by sbi organisation itself and rest of the few banks is been conducted by ibps they also provide information of participating organization in their offical website,

Yes you can start your preparations. Along with IBPS you can apply for SBI PO, RBI grade B, RBI assistant Exams also. Some banks such as Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank, Canara Bank also conducts their own exam for selection of Probationary Officers so give such exams also as vacancies are less and competition is increasing tremendously.
