DRDO Entry Test for Senior Technical Assistant B (STA B) or DRDO CEPTAM is conducted by Centre For Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) for the recruitment of eligible candidates in the technical cadre of DRDO, in CBT mode. The exam is held for 21 subjects and in two papers – Tier I and II. Candidates with BSc. degree or passed the specified engineering diploma can apply for the exam. Tier I exam is a screening test, while Tier II examination is held for provisional selection. The entire selection process includes Tier I, Tier II and preliminary document verification. Tier I exam is held for 2 hours wherein candidates need to answer 150 objective type questions whereas Tier II test is conducted for 1.30 hours where candidates have to answer 100 questions for 100 marks. Tier I is common for all, while Tier II will be held for specific subject selected by the candidates.

DRDO CEPTAM Eligibility Criteria - Essential Qualification Requirement (EQR)
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in science or Three years Diploma in engineering or technology or computer science, or allied subjects in the required discipline by the crucial date of eligibility.
Candidates awaiting their results of the final exam as on crucial date of eligibility are not eligible.
B.Sc. candidates are required to have studied the required subject for at least 2 years in the course of B.Sc. programme.

DRDO CEPTAM Application Form – Stages
Registration
Candidates have to first of all register online by entering the basic details. A user Id & password will be sent to candidates registered email ID and mobile number. Keep the log in ID and password safe for further filling the application form.
Log in and Filling Application Form
Candidates have to fill in the required details at this stage like name, date of birth, father’s name & mother’s name and other required educational details. They also have to select 3 exam centres as per the preference for Tier I exam. For Tier II exam, the authority will itself allot the exam centre. Besides this, they have to upload their digital photograph, signature, left thumb hand impression, category certificate or PWD certificate (if applying for reservation).
Review Application Form
Before final submission, candidates must exercise the option of reviewing the application form. The option is given to ensure that all the information and the data entered by the candidates are correct. If not, they can revisit the correct/edit/change/modify the particulars/data/information/details.
Fee Payment
After final submission of the application form, candidates have to pay the exam fee which is Rs. 100 for General candidates. Reserved category, women and ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the DRDO exam fees. The fee can be paid online via net banking, credit card or debit card.

Print Application
After the fee payment, candidates must take a printout of the submitted application and keep it safe till the document verification. This print out has to be kept for personal reference only. However, in case candidates are shortlisted, then they have to bring the hard copy (duly signed) of this application form (if shortlisted) for document verification.

DRDO CEPTAM Tier I exam will be held in the online mode wherein candidates have to attempt 150 questions for 150 marks. This means that each correct answer will get 1 mark. The exam has to be completed in 2 hours. Tier I exam is held for screening purpose. Tier I exam is common for all and will have questions from Quantitative ability/aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning ability, General awareness, English language (basic knowledge) and General science.
The Tier II exam is held for the subject candidates have opted for out of the 21 papers, as per their eligibility. Tier II will be a computer-based test. Candidates have to answer 100 questions in 1.30 hours. All questions are mandatory and multiple choice. This paper is held for provisional selection.

DRDO CEPTAM Admit Card
The admit card of DRDO CEPTAM admission card will be issued by exam conducting authority. Candidates have to download their admit card in online mode only. To download the admit card, they need to enter the required details. Candidates have to cross-verify all the information on the admit card and ensure that it’s correct. In case of incorrect details on the admit card, candidates must report it to the exam authorities and get them corrected. It must be noted that there is no other means through which the admit card will be released. On the day of the exam, candidates must bring the admit card to the examination centre along with the prescribed photo ID proof or else they will not be allowed to take the test.

DRDO CEPTAM Answer Key
CEPTAM may not release the answer key of Answer Key of DRDO CEPTAM as the exam is held online. However, some coaching institutes may release DRDO CEPTAM answer key post the exam. The coaching institutes may release the answer key for 21 papers separately. Candidates can download the answer key after its availability for the specific paper they have appeared in. Candidates can compare their answers with it and calculate their probable scores.
DRDO CEPTAM Result
DRDO will declare DRDO CEPTAM result in online mode. Candidates can check their result by entering their required credentials in the result window like registration number and date of birth. The scores and ranks of the candidates appearing in the Tier II exam will be published on its official website in the descending order.

Top 6% of the appeared candidates in both Tier I and II exam with at least 40% aggregate marks (For General) and minimum 35% marks (reserved category) in both exams are considered qualified in DRDO CEPTAM Result exam.

The cut off of DRDO CEPTAM is released as per the different papers and categories of the candidates. Candidates have to check the cut off of DRDO CEPTAM as per their category and the paper they have taken. Only if candidates are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Tier I and Tier II of the DRDO Entry Test, they will be considered qualified in the exam for the further selection stage.
To qualify in the exam, General category candidates have to secure at least 40% marks in Tier I and II exam, while reserved category candidates have to score a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in Tier I and II exam. However, only top 6% appearing candidates in Tier I and II with the above mentioned percentage of marks would be shortlisted for the document verification.
DRDO CEPTAM Selection Procedure
Selection process of DRDO CEPTAM includes three stages – Tier I, Tier II exams and preliminary document verification. Both, in Tier I and II exams candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying marks or cut off marks and then appear for the document verification. Tier I is held for screening while Tier II is for provisional allotment. Marks are normalized in Tier-I & Tier-II exam as per best practices and final selection of the candidates is done after the document verification.

As far as I think isro prefer to go with mechanical engineers rather than mettalurgicals ,also they hire metallurgical alternative years once ,vacancy for metallurgical is too less might be 1 or 2 every year ,this year no chances ,hope vacancy will be come next year in 2023 ,but also other than drdo and isro ,a lot of opportunities are there in other fields .

it is not sure that DRDO(Ceptam) held every year, basically it conducts after 1 recruitment cycle is completed. so, next year exam based on the time taken to complete one recruitment cycle by the previous year. but from the last 4 years they are conducting .

Candidates with BSc. degree or passed engineering diplomas can apply for the exam. so u are not eligible for writing this exam.
