It is his/her duty to know about each and every village and be in contact with the Gram Pradhans, Gram Sabhas and the sell/buy of lands of their area of work.

If the Lekhpal is experienced enough and the Revenue Inspector position is vacant, the Lekhpal can be promoted but the chances of it are few.

Report revisions, mutations, partitions, conduct surveys, field trips, record crop data, create local area maps and be in contact with people of that specific area while reporting everything to their senior (Revenue Inspector).
