OTET Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack has determined the OTET 2020 eligibility criteria for all aspiring candidates. The authorities have determined the eligibility criteria of OTET on the basis of nationality, age, and education qualification. The eligibility criteria is determined for appearing in each of the two papers - paper I and II for which the OTET exam is conducted. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before filling the OTET application form 2020. As per OTET eligibility criteria 2020, candidates must hold a graduation degree with at least 50% marks. Candidates failing to meet the OTET 2020 eligibility criteria at any later stage will be rejected from the selection process.

OTET 2020 exam is expected to be held in January 2021 to determine the eligibility of candidates to be recruited as Teachers. As per OTET exam pattern, the test will be held for two papers - paper I and II wherein paper I is for those who wish to become teachers of classes 1 to 5 while paper II is for those who wish to become teachers of classes 6 to 8. OTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of OTET 2020 on the basis of the following factors:

OTET Eligibility Criteria 2020 on the basis of Nationality
A candidate appearing for the eligibility test must be an Indian national.
OTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Age
The examination authorities have not determined any upper age limit for appearing in the exam. However, candidates must not be less than 21 years of age.
OTET Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Education Qualification
In order to be eligible to appear in the OTET exam, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria 2020 as per the paper for which candidates have to appear. OTET elibgility criteria 2020 for appeaing in each of the two papers - paper I and II have been mentioned below separately:
OTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria For Paper I
Must have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) 50% or more marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D.El.Ed.)
or
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
or
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) passed with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
or
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
or
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education
or
Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from any NCTE Recognized Institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided shall undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of their appointment as primary teacher.
OTET Eligibility Criteria 2020 For Paper II
Must be a Graduate with 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education
or
Must hold a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and one year bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)
or
Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard
or
Must have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks along with 4 years of Bachelors in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
or
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) passed with at least 50% marks and a 4 years B.A./ B.Sc, Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed
or
Must be a Graduate with at least 50% marks and one year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OTET Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Relaxation for reserved category
It must be noted that candidates belonging to the reserved categories have been given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks in Higher Secondary or graduation level.
OTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria – Important Points
Candidates holding a Special Education degree (D.Ed./B.Ed.) shall undergo a 6 month Special Programme in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE after appointment.
All those who are considered eligible by the State Govt./NCTE/Govt. of India from time to time.
A person having a degree or pursuing a final year of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or by the RCI, as the case may be).
OTET Application Form 2020
The authorities are expected to release the OTET 2020 application form in online mode at its official website - bseodisha.ac.in. Candidates will have to fill the application form along with the payment of application fee within the allotted time frame.
