About ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) Steno and LDC Recruitment exam to recruit candidates for the posts of Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk (LDC). ICAR is an autonomous body under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. To apply for the exam, candidates have to register successfully and proceed to fill all required details in the application form. Candidate having applied for the exam will be issued admit card for the online test. On the basis of the result for online test, selected candidates will be called to appear for Skill Test. After the Skill Test has been conducted, the final result will be announced based on which candidates will be recruited for the posts of Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk under Indian Council of Agriculture Research.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment is prescribed by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board along with the notification. ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment eligibility criteria 2019 has been given below.

Age Limit: Candidates applying for both the posts must be minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years of age.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed class 12 from a recognised Board

For the post of Stenographers (Grade 3)

Professional Efficiency: Candidates will be dictated in English/ Hindi at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes duration. Candidates opting the test in English will have to transcribe the material on computer in 50 minutes while candidates who opts to appear for the test in Hindi will need to transcribe the matter in 65 minutes.

For the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

Professional Efficiency: Candidates should possess a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English/ 30 words per minute in Hindi.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Registration: Candidates have to visit ICAR official website to apply for preferred post. In the registration part candidates must fill all basic details. No request for change in any field such as exam centre, name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, e-mail ID, mobile number, category, medium of examination etc. except bonafide spelling/ typing mistakes will be considered after the time allowed for editing of application is over.

Filling up of basic details: All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the candidate, post applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields were not editable after final submission.

Uploading of Photograph and Signature: Candidates have to upload their scanned copy of photo and signature to their application form.

Specifications of Photograph and Signature

  • The candidate should keep the scanned copy of his/her recent passport size

  • photograph preferrably white and taken against a light background

  • Size of the photograph should be of 150 kb in .jpg format only (with the face covering at least 2/3rd of the total space for easy identification) and

  • Scanned copy of their Signature taken in black ink only on a white paper preferably

  • Size of the signature should be of a maximum size of 80 kb in .jpg format only for uploading during

  • The candidates are strongly advised to ensure that the same is duly and clearly uploaded in the application form.

  • The photograph and signature would be used to be put on the Admission Certificate and entry to the examination centre is subject to verification of the photograph & signature.

Application Fees for ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment exam: Candidates can pay the application fees through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Exam Pattern

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) prescribes the exam pattern of ICAR Steno and LDC. The Board has provided the exam pattern separately for posts – Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk. As per the exam pattern, the online exam will comprise only objective type questions. In the Computer Based Test, candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer while 0.25 mark will be deducted for incorrect responses made in the exam. Skill Test for Stenographer:

Candidates will be provided dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at 80 words per minute. The dictated material will have to be transcribed on computer within 50 minutes.

Skill Test for Lower Division Clerk

Candidates appearing for Skill Test of Lower Division Clerk must have a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English while candidates opting Hindi language will need to maintain typing speed of 30 words per minute. 35/ 30 words per minute corresponds to 10,500/ 9,000 key depressions per hour with average 5 key depressions for each word.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Admit Card

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment admit card is released by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB). The Board issues the admit card of ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment in the online mode. ASRB will send the link of the online admit card to candidates’ registered email ID and mobile number. The admit card will be available for both the stage of the recruitment exam – Computer Based Test and Skill Test. The admit card of skill test will only be issued for those candidates qualifying Computer Based Test. The admit card contains information pertaining to the exam including candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth, date, time, venue of examination and exam day guideline. On the day of the exam, candidates must also carry one valid photo identity proof along with two photographs identical to the one provided during registration.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Answer Key

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will release the answer key of Computer Based Examination of the conduct of the online test. ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment answer key will be made available online. Candidates will be able to avail the answer key by logging in using roll number and password. First, the Board will declare the tentative answer key. Candidates will be able to challenge the tentative answer key by making payment of Rs. 100 per objection within the dates prescribed by the board. After the link to raise objections has been closed, the Board will scrutinise the challenges received from candidates on the basis of which the final answer key will be prepared. The answer key will contain the correct responses of the questions asked in the online exam. With the help of the answer key, candidates will be able to calculate their probable score in the exam by cross verifying all answers marked by them with those provided in the answer key.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Result

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board will declare the result in two stages – Computer Based Examination and final result. ICAR Steno and LDC recruitment result will be released online. The Board will announce the provisional result for the online test to shortlist candidates for the next stage of selection process. The result will be declared in the form of pdf file containing the names, roll numbers and categories of qualified candidates. Based on marks secured in the Computer Based Examination, candidates will be called for Skill Test. After the conduct of Skill Test, final result will be prepared on the basis of performance in the online exam and Skill test. The final result is declared to recruit candidates for the the posts of Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk available under Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Cutoff

The cutoff of ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 will be released by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board along with the result. The cutoff is the minimum marks that must be secured by candidates in each exam stage to qualify for the next phase of recruitment process. The Board will determine the cutoff in two stages – Computer Based Test and final cutoff. On the basis of cut off for the online test, candidates will be selected to appear in Skill test. After the Skill Test has been conducted, the Board will release the final cut off. Based on the final cut off, candidates will be shortlisted for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk under Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment 2019 Selection Process

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board conducts ICAR Steno and LDC Recruitment to recruit candidates for Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk posts. The exam is held in two stage – Computer Based Test and Skill Test. The computer based exam is held for 200 marks to qualify candidates for the Skill Test. Candidates will be shortlisted for Skill Test in the ratio 1:20, i.e. for each vacancy 20 candidates will be selected to appear in the Skill Test. Based on the performance in both online and Skill test, candidates will be selected for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer or Lower Division Clerk available under Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board.

The release of ICAR application form has been delayed due to covid-19 pandemic , but yes we may expect its release this month in June 2021. So, for application form release you need to keep an eye on its official website i. e icar.nta.nic.in or alternately follow us for updates at

Once, the application form gets released you will be able to fill it in online mode and for that you need to go through given below steps i. e

* visit the official website i. e icar.nta.nic.in , then do the registration with the help of your email ID and mobile number

*then fill the form, you need to fill your personal details, your academic details, your address both permanent and residential etc

* and after that you need to go for uploading your documents i.e you will have to upload your scanned photograph and

* then pay the application fee

*and finally you should take the printout of confirmation page

Till the application form gets released you should continue your ICAR preparation,  follow a timetable to avoid wastage of time , do chapterwise revision and then go through previous year question papers and mock test papers.

You have to attend the Entrance Exam in order to get yourself a seat in Government Agriculture College. Like you have Indian Council of Agriculture Research All India Entrance Examination (ICAR AIEEA) Exam. Scoring the required Score in this exam will get you a seat.

You can also attempt State-Conducted Entrance Exams like MHT CET, KEAM, TS EAMCET, AP EAMCET, KCET, UPSEE, MP PAT and Bihar B.Sc. Agricultural Entrance Exam.
