IBPS PO 2018

 

IBPS PO 2018 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct IBPS PO 2018 prelims on October 13, 14, 20 and 21. IBPS PO 2018 mains will be held on November 18. IBPS PO exam is conducted by IBPS annually for the recruitment of candidates as Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in participating organisations. There are three stages of the IBPS PO 2018 exam – IBPS PO prelims, mains and interview. The mode of exam of IBPS PO prelims and mains will be online. Candidates qualifying in the prelims exam will be able to take the mains exam. Personal Interview will be conducted for qualifying candidates of the mains exam.

 

The notification of IBPS PO 2018 is likely to be released in July/August this year. Over 30 lakhs candidates appear for the recruitment process every year. IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2018


IBPS detemines the eligibility of IBPS PO 2018. IBPS PO eligibility criteria 2018 include eligibilty based on nationality, age, educational qualification, etc. It is important that the candidates check the eligibility criteria of IBPS PO 2018 before applying for the exam. IBPS PO Nationality/Citizenship Criteria 2018

Following type of candidates are eligible for IBPS PO 2018 based on nationality or citizenship.

  • Citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan.

  • Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.

  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO) migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

  • Candidates other than citizen of India must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favour. 

IBPS PO Age Criteria 2018

As per the eligibility criteria of IBPS PO 2018, a general category candidate must be 20-30 years of age. A relaxation i.e. an extension of the age limit is given to special categories which goes from about 3 years to 10 years.

 

IBPS PO Educational Qualification Criteria 2018

The candidate must have a graduation degree such as B.A., B,Tech., or any other Bachelors Degree from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification also recognised by the Government of India.

The candidate must be computer literate as the mode of examination is online. The candidate must also have profeciency, both verbal and written in the language of the state or the union teritory.

 

Number of Attempts in IBPS PO 2018

A candidate can take as many attempts as he/she wants to take, until success comes. 

IBPS PO Application Form 2018


Application form of IBPS PO 2018 will be made available by IBPS in the months of July or August. IBPS PO application form is filled in online mode. While filling the applicaion form of IBPS PO, candidates have to fill in essential details very carefully and complete the entire process. Details filled in the application form of IBPS PO will be used in later stages of the exam like admit card, result, etc. It is advised that the candidates check their eligibility criteria before applying online for IBPS PO 2018. Pre-requisites while filling application form of IBPS PO 2018

  • Photographs and signatures scanned in the prescribed sizes.

IBPS PO 2018 Application Fee

Application fees once paid will be non-refundable. The fee for SC/ST/PWD is Rs. 100 and for general and other categories, Rs. 600 (including intimation charges).

IBPS PO Admit Card 2018


IBPS will release the admit card of IBPS PO 2018 for the three stages of the exam. All applicants can download the IBPS PO prelims admit card tentatively in the month of September. Candidates need to carry the admit card to the exam centre. Without the admit card of IBPS PO, candidates will not be allowed in the exam hall.   • There are three sections in the IBPS PO prelims exam - English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability. One hour will be given to complete this section. IBPS PO prelims exam will carry 100 marks.

  • IBPS PO mains exam has four objective sections - Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation. Time duration for these sections is three hours. These sections will carry 200 marks. The descriptive section will have two questions of 25 marks. The alloted time for this section is 30 minutes. 

  • An interview will be abconducted for the candidates who qualify IBPS PO mains exam.

Syllabus of IBPS PO 2018 Prelims Examination

There will be topics based on three sections in the syllabus of IBPS PO prelims.

For the Reasoning Ability section in the IBPS PO Prelims examination, candidates will have to prepare topics like logical reasoning, alphanumeric series, puzzles, blood relations, etc. For the Quantitative Aptitude section, candidates should prepare topics like simplifications, profit and loss, number systems, mensuration, permutation, combination, etc. The English Language section will have questions like error detection, para jumbles, fill in the blanks, etc.

 

Syllabus of IBPS PO 2018 Mains Examination

IBPS PO 2018 syllabus for the mains exam will be based on the sections of Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Lanuguage and Data Analysis and Interpretation. Letter writing and essay writing is to be prepared for the descriptive section. The candidate must have knowledge of computers since IBPS PO conducted online.

How to prepare by subjects and division of sections for IBPS PO 2018

  • While preparing for the IBPS PO exam, divide time for sections and subjects according to what you find most difficult

  • Pick one topic at a time to avoid confusion

  • Try a good no. Of questions, say 50, of the same kind to attain accuracy

  • Keep in mind the weightage, time consumed, difficulty and topic for each prep session.

  • Select the right material

  • The quantitaive and reasoning ability questions in the IBPS PO Pre and Mains exam are more time consuming than language and need more attention and hence more practice

  • Language questions are the least time consuming and need practice for a shorter time

  • Solve sample papers towards the day of examinations to learn time management

  • Time yourself according to the time provided for each section in the actual examination

  • A descriptive section has been added to the Mains examination for which letter writing and essay writing is to be practiced.

IBPS PO Cut Off 2018


IBPS PO cutoff 2018 is the minimum marks required to qualify the IBPS PO exam. IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018


IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 includes stages of the recruitment procedure. Qualifying candidates of IBPS PO prelims will be eligible to appear for IBPS PO mains. After qualifiying the mains exam, candidates will be called for the personal interview. Candidates need to secure the cutoff in order to qualify. The IBPS PO 2018 interview carries 100 marks. The interview lasts no longer than 15-20 minutes. The candidates must carry all required documents to the interview and must be well dressed in front of the panel composed of bank officials from 20 Participating organizations, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. The questions will be asked from relevant banking knowledge and the candidates themselves.

Ques. Is there a limit on number of attempts for the IBPS PO exam?

Ans. No. Only limiting factor is age. A candidate can appear for the exam until he/she reaches the age limit.

Ques. Is the alloted centre/venue/date/time changeable?

Ans. No. The alloted centre can only be changed to centres of second and third choices filled by the applicant in the application form.

Ques. Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?

Ans. Yes. There's a sectional cutoff and the candidate needs to clear both sectional cutoff and overall cutoff in order to qualify.

Ques. Is the application form available offline?

Ans. No. Application form can only be filled online.

Ques. Can you apply without an email id?

Ans. A valid email id is necessary to apply for the IBPS PO Exam.

Ques. Do you have to score a certain percentage in the undergraduate degree to be eligible for IBPS PO Exam?

Ans. There is no such condition for eligibility.
