The selection is done on the basis of preliminary examination followed by the mains examination. The application form is to be filled as in the format prescribed in the advertisement and submitted on the last date of application. There is no application fees as such prescribed in the advertisement. The date for examination will be notified later to candidates. Educational Qualification - Master's degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the Degree Level/ Master's Degree in English with Hindi as a subject at the Degree Level/ Master's Degree in any subject with Hindi and English as subjects at the Degree Level/ Master's Degree in any subject with Hindi medium and English as a subject at the Degree Level/ Master's Degree in any subject with English medium and Hindi as a subject at the Degree Level.

The Preliminary exam is an Objective type paper for 75 minutes duration. The questions are asked from following topics:

The candidates are required to score a minimum score in all segments as well as aggregate. The marks obtained in prelims exam will not be considered in the final score or preparation of merit list.
The mains exam will be conducted in two different papers. The detailed topics are mentioned below:

The final merit list is prepared on the score obtained in the mains exam. The answer sheet of mains exam is checked only for those candidates who score minimum score as specified for the prelims exam.
Selection for the post of Translator in Parliament of India will be made on the basis of Preliminary exam followed by a Main exam. The prelims is a objective type test of 75 minutes which helps in shortlisting candidates for mains round. The main exam is a 5 hour long exam consisting of two exams. The final selection of candidates is based on the score obtained in the mains exam.
