How to crack SSC CHSL Tier-II?

(a) Points to note

The Paper in Tier-II will have to be written either in Hindi or in English but not a mix of both. So, candidates must write only in English or Hindi to avoid getting zero marks. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II is 33 per cent.

How to prepare for SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam?

Points to note: Tier-III which is the Skill Test/Typing Test is qualifying by nature. The following tests are conducted:

(a) Skill Test for Data Entry Operators

  • It is a mandatory test

  • It will be conducted on a passage of 2000-2200 key depressions for a duration of 15 minutes.

  • For the post of Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’ in the Office of the (C&AGI): It will be 3700-4000 key-depressions in 15 minutes.

(b) Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant

Candidates must opt either Hindi or English medium for typing test:

  1. English Medium: Typing speed of 35 words per minute i.e. 175 key depressions per minute (10500 key depressions per hour).

  2. Hindi Medium: Typing speed of 30 words per minute i.e. 150 key depressions per minute (9000 key depressions per hour).

  3. The speed will be adjudged on: the accuracy of typing on the computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes (15 minutes for scribe candidates).

(a) Setting up a Goal: First step towards cracking the SSC CHSL exam is to analyse eligibility, capabilities, and the required means/resources to achieve it. Setting goals give the following advantages

(b) Daily Routine (Time Management) through a timetable: It must be said that a good timetable utilises the 24 hours in a day, 4 weeks in a month, and 12 months to prepare for SSC CHSL with ample time to relax, sleep and study to the best of one’s capabilities. (a) How to Manage Reading Speed: This is important as the syllabus is vast, so you need speed to cover it all. Some habits to prod you in the right direction:

  • Ability to concentrate and focus on the content.

  • Avoiding rereading and moving on to new topics once done.

  • Use of a timer to gauge reading time and fix time slots for particular sections and topics.

  • Skimming through the important facts once their learning is complete.

  • Practice till the desirable reading speed is achieved.

(b) Make your own Study Timetable

  • Divide the syllabus into Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III. Further, divide each one into subjects and chapters/topics.

  • Then divide the time span, say a year into months, a month into weeks, and a week into days. Now divide the day into a group of hours.

  • Next, make a chronological classification of subjects, topics, and sub-topics of all three tiers, mainly Tier-I and Tier-II syllabus according to strong and weak areas and the importance of questions asked in the examinations.

Practice Sessions: Revision must be every 15th day and every 3rd month. Incorporating practice with mock papers, past years' question papers will make the plan a better and viable one.

Daily Revision Schedule: A look at all important points that were studied on any given day must be revised before going to sleep. Likewise, in the morning, a quick revision of all chapters and topics studied the previous day for the SSC CHSL exam is a good way to go.

Weekly Revision Schedule: Revision must incorporate all the subjects, chapters, and topics that were studied in the past 6 days of the week.

(a) Learning Evaluation: You as SSC CHSL aspirant must check your learning progress and evaluate your preparation from time to time (weekly and monthly). You need to check your capability of answering - hundred percent correct, or fifty percent correct as well as how many questions you could not answer. Staff Selection Commission is an organisation under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices.

12th pass candidates between the age of 18 to 27 years are eligible to apply for SSC exam. They must also meet the nationality and other criteria. The candidates who are appearing in class 12th can also apply for the exam as well.

You will attain 18 years as on 5th December of this year, if we go through the previous year official notification of SSC CHSL, then candidates need to attain 18 years as on 1st January of the appearing year which you will attain by 1st January, 2023 hence you can apply for upcoming SSC CHSL for which notification is expected to be out by 5th Nov, the conducting authority SSC in this case provides a duration of one month for form fill-up process, also you need to meet the following criteria for educational qualifications as well;

  • Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Posting Assistant, Sorting Assistant, DEO except CA&G; passed 10+2 from a recognized board in any stream
