UGC NET Important Dates 2017 - Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the exam conducting authority of the University Grant Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) has announced important dates of UGC NET 2017 November session. The application form of UGC NET 2017 November session will be available in online mode from August 11, 2017. The examination schedule of UGC NET 2017 can be checked through this page to keep track of all important events of UGC NET November session 2017. Candidates who wish to appear for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) programme are advised to check the below mentioned examination schedule and mark their calendars accordingly.
As per the CBSE UGC NET 2017 important dates, the candidates can fill UGC NET application form before the last date i.e. September 11, while the application fee for UGC NET November session 2017 can be submitted till September 12, 2017. The application fee of UGC NET 2017 November session can be remitted through online generate bank challan, at any branch of (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC) or through Credit Card/Debit Card. Moreover, the exam conducting authority will be providing an online window for application form correction for at least seven days. *Time Schedule is tentative as per the January session examination, it will be updated as and when available officially.
According to the UGC NET Selection Process 2017, the JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will be awarded on the basis of the candidate’s performance in all the 3 papers of NET. However, those candidates, who qualified only for Assistant Professor, will not be subject to the award of the JRF.

To better prepare for the exam know the exam pattern of what type of questions will be asked, then go through the entire syllabus and analyze which sections seem to be easy and which are tough so that you can allocate your time accordingly, in both the papers I and II. You can buy any one of the ugc books and also refer to post-graduation action books covering the important concepts in detail. YouTube videos can be viewed to gather more information on a particular topic. You can try to solve previous years paper to practice better and you can also practice through online mock tests.

I would like to inform you that for UGC NET the eligibility criteria is the aspirant should have masters' degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks as per the NTA guidelines.
So if you have obtained 55% aggregate marks in your masters' degree programme then definitely you can opt for UGC NET in tourism.

Yes surely you are eligible for UGC NET but you must assure that you have 55% marks in your master degree level. The basic criteria for UGC NET is to complete the master degree with 55% marks. If you want to apply for junior fellowship research then your age must be not more than 30.

Subin, NTA mentions few things in its Information Bulletin. It goes on to say
"NTA will not change any information entered by the candidates on its own after completion of application process under any circumstances. It is upto the Candidate to enter the correct information. Once the correction window has been closed, NTA does not guarantee that any request for change in information will be entertained."
Now the counselling happens after the merit list and cut offs have been released. And the merit list is prepared according to the marks you have scored and the Category details you have mentioned while filling in the application form. Now though your score might be more than the General Category, your Category cannot be changed. You will be still considered under EWS Category and you will be expected to submit documents accordingly. If you fail to do so, your admission might stand cancelled.
