About SSC CHSL 2024

Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CHSL notification 2024 on April 8 at ssc.gov.in. The SSC CHSL application form 2024 has also be released along with the notification. Candidates can submit the application form of SSC CHSL exam 2024 in online mode only.

Eligible applicants can fill and submit the SSC CHSL application form 2024 on or before May 7, 2024. The exam authority will also activate SSC CHSL application form 2024 correction link on the official website from May 10 to 11, 2024. The SSC CHSL exam 2024 for tier 1 is scheduled to be conducted on July 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12, 2024.

The Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) examination is conducted every year by Staff Selection Commission for recruitment to the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations. Candidates to be eligible for SSC CHSL 2024 should be between 18 to 27 years and have passed Class 12.

SSC CHSL 2024 recruitment exam is conducted in three stages – Tier-I (CBT), Tier-II (PPT), and Tier-III (Skill/Typing Test). The final allocation of candidates to various departments is done based on the candidate’s merit and option given by them in the SSC CHSL application form. SSC is anticipated to release a total of 4893 vacancies for the recruitment of various posts in various Ministries/ Departments/Offices of the Government of India. The exact number of SSC CHSL 2024 vacancies will be notified soon by the SSC.

The eligibility criteria of SSC CHSL is prescribed by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC CHSL eligibility criteria are the set of guidelines in terms of age, educational qualification, and nationality that candidates have to fulfill to be eligible for the exam. Before filling the application form, candidates need to check all details on the SSC CHSL 2024 eligibility criteria.

Age Limit: The age of candidates as per SSC CHSL eligibility criteria should be 18 to 27 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, etc.

Educational Qualification: According to SSC CHSL eligibility criteria 2024, the educational qualification required for the exam is Class 12/HSC. For the post of Data Entry Operator, candidates must have passed their Class 12/HSC from Science Stream with Mathematics.

Nationality: Candidates should be a citizen of India. Candidates from Bhutan, Nepal and Tibetan refugee are also eligible subject to fulfilment of SSC CHSL 2024 eligibility criteria.

Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CHSL 2024 application form in online on April 8 at ssc.gov.in. The SSC CHSL form last date is May 7, 2024. The commission will also provide the SSC CHSL application form 2024 correction link on the official website from May 10 to 11, 2024.

The application fee is Rs 100 for the general and OBC categories while women, SC, ST, and PwD candidates are exempted from fee payment. The procedure to fill SSC CHSL application form online is explained below for reference purposes only. Candidates who want to pay their application fees through the SBI challan can make the payment through the challan.

How to Fill SSC CHSL Application Form 2024?

Candidates can follow the steps below to apply for SSC CHSL 2024 exam,

Part-1: Online One Time Registration -

  • Applicants need to first fill the SSC CHSL 2024 registration form
  • To register, candidates will have to enter their basic details.
  • On submission of the registration form, the candidate’s registration ID and password will be generated.

Upload Photo & Signature - Applicants should proceed to upload their photograph and signature. The size of the photograph should be between 4 KB to 20 KB and 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm in dimension while the signature should be 1 KB to 12KB and 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height) in dimension.

Part - 2: Fill SSC CHSL application form - To fill in other details in the SSC CHSL application form, candidates have to log in with their password and registration ID.

Fee Payment - After filling the application form, applicants have to pay their examination fees either online or offline.

Submission of application form - On successful fee payment, the application process is complete and candidates should take a printout of the SSC CHSL application form.

Lakhs of candidates appear for SSC CHSL every year. Although the competition is tough, however, anyone can crack this exam if they prepare sincerely. Below are few SSC CHSL Preparation Tips.

  • First, get familiar with the SSC CHSL exam pattern and syllabus. Note down the topics that you need to study for this exam.
  • After knowing the syllabus, make a plan for preparation according to the time you have till the exam. Complete the syllabus first and then go for mock tests.
  • Do not jump straight into practicing. First, you need to get good at the basics. If you know the basics then you will be able to crack the exam.
  • Quantitative Ability has a huge syllabus. Analyze the previous years’ papers and pick topics accordingly. Practice Ratio, Percentage, Averages, Time Speed Distance, Time and Work, Profit & Loss, Interest, Geometry and Trigonometry, Algebra as you will get maximum questions from these topics.

  • To ace the English language section, go through all the grammar rules like tenses, voices, articles, prepositions, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Practice active passive voice, direct indirect speech, cloze test, error spotting, sentence improvement, and fill in the blanks. Focus on Antonyms, Synonyms, Idioms, Phrases, and Spellings.
  • Reasoning requires a lot of practice. Practice Analogies, Syllogisms, coding-decoding, Odd one out, Alphabetical & Numerical Series, Missing terms, Blood Relations, Direction sense, Arrangements.
  • General Awareness is dominated by static GK and current affairs. Candidates should revise Science, Indian Polity, Sports Geography, Economics, Books and Authors, History and Computer Awareness.

SSC CHSL 2024 Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Pattern

  • The Tier I of SSC CHSL will be conducted in Computer Based Mode.
  • The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes as per the SSC CHSL exam pattern
  • The question paper will be divided into different parts – I, II, III, and IV.
  • All questions will be objective type.
  • The test carries a total of 100 questions from English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill), and General Awareness.
  • According to the SSC CHSL exam pattern of Tier I, the Total marks allotted for this Tier is 200.
  • The questions will be set both in English and Hindi.
  • 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SSC CHSL Tier II Exam Pattern

  • The Tier II of SSC CHSL consists of three sections having two modules each.
  • THE SSC CHSL Tier-II exam will be conducted in two sessions, Session 1 & Session 2 will be held on the same day. Session-I will include conducting of Section-I, Section II and Module-I of Section III. Session II will include conducting of Module II of Section III (Skill Test/ Typing Test).
  • SSC CHSL Tier-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for

    Module II of Section III. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II.

  • There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section II and Module-I of Section III.

  • Module I of Section III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.

  • Module II of Section III will be of qualifying nature (Part A - Skill test and Part B - Typing test).

  • Part A: Skill Test is mandatory for DEO/ DEO Grade 'A’ - Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer. Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.

  • Part B: Typing Test is for other posts including LDC/ JSA - The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.

SSC CHSL E-books and Sample Papers

Staff Selection Commission will issue the SSC CHSL admit card 2024 for tier 1 online on the official regional websites. The authorities release the SSC CHSL admit card separately for all the stages of the exam. SSC CHSL 2024 admit card is issued online by the Regional/Sub-Regional office at the official website. Candidates have to log in with their registration number or roll number and date of birth to download SSC CHSL admit card 2024.

SSC CHSL Tier I Admit Card

The Tier I admit card of SSC CHSL will be released in online mode only for all the regions. Candidates whose applications have accepted for the recruitment exam can download the admit card from the official website. Candidates have to download SSC CHSL admit card of Tier I online. The admit card comprises information regarding the date, time, and city of the SSC CHSL Tier I exam.

SSC CHSL Tier II Admit Card

SSC CHSL admit card for Tier II will be released after the declaration of Tier I result. The admit card for Tier II will be issued to those candidates who have cleared Tier I exam.

The commission will release the provisional SSC CHSL answer key 2024 online on the official website. Candidates need to login to the website using the Roll Number and Password to download the SSC CHSL answer key and response sheet.

SSC CHSL answer key is available online for all sets of online test booklets. Candidates can even challenge the SSC CHSL answer key if they are not satisfied with the answers. Challenges will be accepted online only. To register challenges, candidates have to pay Rs 100 per answer.

How to download SSC CHSL answer key 2024:

Follow the steps below to download the answer key of SSC CHSL 2024,

  • Go to the official website - ssc.gov.in
  • Click on the answer key link (link will be updated)
  • Choose the "Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination"
  • Enter the login credentials without any mistakes
  • SSC CHSL answer key will appear on the screen
  • Download it as a PDF file.

The commission will declare the SSC CHSL 2024 result online on the official website - ssc.gov.in. The result PDF of SSC CHSL contains the name, category, and roll numbers of shortlisted candidates. To check marks, candidates have to log in with the examination name, roll number/registration number, and password.

SSC declares the result of SSC CHSL in three stages – Tier I, II, and final. SSC CHSL result of all the stages are declared online. First, the CHSL tier 1 result is declared followed by the declaration of the Tier II result. The final SSC CHSL result is declared after the skill test/Typing test. SSC CHSL final result will be declared based on the candidate’s aggregate score of Tier I and 2.

SSC CHSL Tier I Result

The Tier I exam will be declared for all candidates who have appeared for the exam. However, candidates securing the qualifying marks as per category will be selected for Tier II.

SSC CHSL Tier II Result

Tier II is held for candidates selected based on their marks in Tier I. Candidates need to secure qualifying marks in this paper to clear the exam. It is mandatory for candidates to qualify this stage.

The SSC CHSL cut off 2024 tier 1 will be released along with the result at ssc.gov.in. On the basis of the SSC CHSL cutoff of Tier I, candidates are selected for Tier II. SSC CHSL cutoff is applied for Tier I, II, III, and final allotment. To qualify Tier II, candidates have to secure the qualifying cutoff of 33 %. The final allotment cut off of SSC CHSL is the lowest score of candidates for selection.

On the basis of the final allotment cutoff, qualified candidates will be allocated posts and departments. Candidates have to secure the cutoff as per their category to qualify for each stage of the exam. Only the candidates who obtain the SSC CHSL cutoff will be selected for the next round of recruitment exams.

SSC CHSL Tier I Cutoff

SSC CHSL cutoff of Tier I will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in General Intelligence, English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness after applying negative marks for each wrong answer. As the exam of SSC CHSL Tier I will be conducted in multiple shifts therefore the cutoff of candidates will be calculated after normalising the marks.

SSC CHSL Tier II Cutoff

The qualifying cutoff of Tier II is 33 % across categories which candidates have to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for Tier III.

SSC CHSL 2024 Selection Process

Candidates will be selected for Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator posts based on their performance in Tier I and II. Merit list will be prepared based on candidate’s performance in all the tiers. Candidate’s whose names appear in the merit list will be allotted to the various departments. SSC CHSL selection process of different stages is explained below.

SSC CHSL Tier I

All candidates who register for the exam have to first appear for Tier I as per SSC CHSL selection procedure.

SSC CHSL Tier II

Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier II based on their performance. Candidates qualifying Tier 2 will be called for Document verification.

Documents Required at Counselling

  • Date of birth certificate or high school mark sheet with date of birth
  • Original score card along with two xerox copies
  • Marksheet/certificate of class 10 and 12 examination
  • Certificate regarding degree/post-graduate/other examinations passed
  • Passport size photographs and one should attached to interview call letter
  • Character certificate
  • SC/ST/OBC categories must bring the caste/community certificate issued by the competent authority
  • Medical certificate for physically challenged candidates
  • Discharge certificate in applied under Ex-Servicemen

The upper age restriction for applicants in the general category is 27 years old; however, candidates in the reserved category are granted an age relaxation.

Hello

Staff Selection Commission is an organisation under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices.

12th pass candidates between the age of 18 to 27 years are eligible to apply for SSC exam. They must also meet the nationality and other criteria. The candidates who are appearing in class 12th can also apply for the exam as well.

As in your case yes you can apply for the SSC Exam.

I am hoping that you are absolutely fine and doing well. As per your mentioned query , the ssc chsl stands for Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam.  It is conducted by Staff Selection Commission. The eligibility criteria of this exam is :

  • The age limit of candidate should be between 18 to 27 years.
  • The nationality should be citizen.
  • The candidate should be passed their class 12th.

Before filling the admission form , look out the eligibility criteria so that you will not be disqualified. If you are not eligible then you application form will be disqualified.

You will attain 18 years as on 5th December of this year, if we go through the previous year official notification of SSC CHSL, then candidates need to attain 18 years as on 1st January of the appearing year which you will attain by 1st January, 2023 hence you can apply for upcoming SSC CHSL for which notification is expected to be out by 5th Nov, the conducting authority SSC in this case provides a duration of one month for form fill-up process, also you need to meet the following criteria for educational qualifications as well;

  • Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Posting Assistant, Sorting Assistant, DEO except CA&G; passed 10+2 from a recognized board in any stream
  • DEO in the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India; passed 10+2 from a recognized board in science stream having studied mathematics as a subject,

The age limit for UR as on 1st January of the appearing year is 18 to 27 years, for SC/ST there has been relaxation offered for five years, for OBC it's three years, for UR-PwD it's ten years, for OBC-PwD it's thirteen years, for SC/ST-PwD it's fifteen years, for ex-servicemen it's three years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date of the online application form fill-up,for women who are divorced/widow/judicially separated and are not remarried are eligible to apply till 35 years for UR/OBC, for for SC/ST it's up to 40 years,
