About UPSC ESE 2024

UPSC ESE 2024 - The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the UPSC ESE 2024 result for prelims on March 28, 2024 at upsc.gov.in. The UPSC ESE 2024 prelims exam was held on February 18, 2024. The UPSC ESE 2024 admit card was released online on February 9, 2024. UPSC closed the UPSC ESE application form correction window on October 3, 2023. The commission closed the UPSC ESE 2024 application form in online on September 26 at upsc.gov.in.

fThe commission released the ESE notification 2024 on September 6, 2023 on the official website. The commission has released the UPSE ESE application form 2024 in online mode along with the notification. The UPSC ESE 2024 application form has been released at upsc.gov.in.

To appear in the UPSC ESE exam 2024, a candidate must be between 21 to 30 years of age and hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. The selection process of UPSC ESE consists of three stages i.e prelims, mains, and personality test. Candidates securing marks equal to more than the cutoff of UPSC ESE for each stage of the selection process will be shortlisted for the final recruitment. The candidate who will be selected will get a pay scale of Rs 15600 - 39100.

UPSC ESE or the Engineering Services Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit candidates in groups A and B Service posts under Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication engineering categories. The shortlisted candidates are recruited in Indian Railways, Indian Ordnance Factories, Central Water Engineering Service, Indian Skill Development Service, etc. Recruitment is made to the services/posts under the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunication Engineering categories.

UPSC ESE eligibility 2024 on the basis of educational qualification

In order to meet the eligibility criteria of UPSC ESE on the basis of education qualification, candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Must hold a degree in Engineering from the Central or State University or other recognised Educational Institutions deemed as Universities or UGC.

  • A degree/diploma in Engineering from foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or

  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).

  • Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or

  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959.

  • Candidates applying for Indian Radio Regulatory Service must have M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.

  • Candidates applying for Indian Naval Armament Service must have M.Sc.degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

Eligibility criteria on the basis of nationality

Candidates applying for UPSC ESE must be either:

  • A citizen of India, or

  • A subject of Nepal, or

  • A subject of Bhutan, or

  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 settled permanently in India, or

  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam and settled permanently in India.

The UPSC ESE 2024 application form was released on September 6, 2023 on the official website - upsc.gov.in.

UPSC DAF 2024

The Detailed Application Form (DAF) is filled by the candidates who qualify the prelims exam. While filling UPSC ESE Detailed Application Form, candidates first have to register themselves and fill the details like name, roll number, email – id, date of birth and all the other details and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

The details about the login credential are sent to the email id provided by the candidates. Candidates have to log in with the roll number and password generated and fill the modules of all the six modules including Personal, parental, educational, Employment information,  and upload the documents and finally submit the application form.

UPSC ESE 2024 Exam Pattern

UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam Exam Pattern

UPSC ESE 2024 prelims exam is the first stage in the selection process. Candidates qualifying in the preliminary stage of the UPSC ESE exam will have to appear for the mains exam. The preliminary exam is conducted for two papers - paper I and II wherein paper I is General Studies and paper II is Engineering Aptitude. The exam is objective in nature.

  • Paper I is conducted within 2 hours during which candidates are asked questions for a total of 200 marks.

  • Paper II or Engineering Aptitude is held for 3 hours during which candidates are asked questions for a total of 300 marks.

Hello Aspirant,

Eligibility criteria for IES or ESE are

Candidate must have received a degree in Engineering from a university integrated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or acknowledged as deemed to be universities under section-3 of the university grants commission act.

As NMIMS Mumbai is a private deemed university, you are eligible for this exam.

It came to be a deemed university organized under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

Will UPSC extend the application date for ESE2022

Hello,

No there is no information regarding the extension of ESE 2022 application date so no officials will not extend the dates for registration. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) closed the ESE application form 2022 in online mode on the official website upsc.gov.in. The UPSC ESE withdrawal window will be open from October 20, 2021 to October 26, 2021. The UPSC IES form 2022 has been released on September 22, 2021.The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for UPSC ESE exam is graduation in engineering.

Here are a few criteria for a candidate while he is appearing for the union public services examination-

1. Regarding the age criteria for a General candidate the minimum age limit for appearing in this examination is 21 years where as the upper age limit for an eligible Candidate is 35 years.

2. Secondly, the candidate must have a graduation degree from any recognised college irrespective of which stream in order to appear for the examinations.

3. A General candidate has a lifetime opportunity of of a total of 6 attempts to appear in these examinations.
