Candidates will be selected for the post of Assistants based on the performance in mains examination and Language Proficiency test. RBI Assistant Selection Procedure includes – applying for exam, appearing for online exam followed by Language Proficiency test, reservation requirements, medical fitness and document verification. RBI prescribes RBI Assistant eligibility requirements such as age, educational qualification, number of attempts, nationality which is necessary to be eligible for the recruitment process. Candidates who aspire to appear for RBI Assistant 2018 should read the details given below before filling the application form.
Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than October 2, 1989 and not later than October 1, 1987 (both days including) are only eligible to apply for RBI Assistant 2018.
A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
The date of passing eligibility will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. If case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

The result of RBI Assistant is declared in three phases – Prelims, mains and Language Proficiency test. RBI will release the result for each phases in online mode. Candidates can check their results roll number/registration number and password/date of birth. The scores obtained by candidates in preliminary and mains examination will be normalized for each sessions. The RBI Assistant result for prelims and mains will be announced based on the normalized scores. Candidates need to secure both overall and sectional qualifying marks in both prelims and mains exam. Those qualifying the mains examination will be called for Language Proficiency test. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidates performance in mains exam and Language Proficiency test.
Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 14650 per month (i.e. Rs. 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates) in the scale of 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800- 1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years)
Other allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. will be given from time to time.

For RBI Assistant Exam, you need to be between 20 to 28 years of age pls should be a graduate in any discipline with 50% marks. For reserved categories (SC/ST/PWD candidates), they just need to pass graduation in any discipline. Knowledge of word processing on PC is required too.

Time management: In prelim exam your target is to get more marks in less time as the questions are comparatively easy. If you are good at English you can score more in less time.
Balance speed and acccuracy- Reasoning is a very scoring section in which you get the best balance of speed and accuracy.
Practice for the exam: build on on your basics and fundamentals. Analyse your performance and work on your ‘improvement area’ to score more by taking a lot of mock tests.
