The official answer key of CSIR UGC NET for December session was released on January 17, 2019. In case of any discrepancy in the answer key, candidates could submit the representation till January 27. CSIR UGC NET 2018 exam was conducted on December 16 in two sessions. Eligibility of CSIR UGC NET 2018 is majorly determined on the following two grounds:
CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria on the basis of educational qualificationsCandidates must be a Master in Science or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS- Four Years/BE/Btech/BPharma/MBBS with not less than 55% marks for general category candidate (UR) and OBC candidates and not less than 50% of marks for the SC/ST candidates and PwD candidates.Candidates who are enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of application form (under the Result Awaited (RA) category).Candidates who are B.Sc(Hons) or the equivalent degree holders,candidates enrolled in integrated MS- PhD program with not less than 55% marks for the candidates of general category (UR) and OBC and not less than 50% marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and PwD.Candidates who hold bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellows.Candidates who are PhD degree holders and have passed Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, with at least 50% marks can apply for Lectureship only.
CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Age
For JRF (NET) – The maximum age of the candidate must be 28 years as on July 1, 2018. In case of SC/ST/PwD and female candidates, the upper age limit relaxation has been provided up to 5 years. Candidates who belong to the OBC category (non-creamy layer) has been given a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
For LS (NET) – There is no upper age limit.
CSIR had released the application form of CSIR UGC NET in online mode on September 27. The application form was available till October 17, 2018. Along with filling the application form of CSIR UGC NET 2018, candidates also had to pay the application fee through online mode, using the payment gateway facility.
Other Backward Classes (OBC)- Non-creamy layer
The exam centres of CSIR UGC NET 2018 are the various venues where the exam was conducted. There were 27 cities across the country. Candidates will be selected for awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and will be appointed as Lecturers (NET) in subjects under the faculty of science and technology. The fellowship awarded will be effective from July 1, 2019 for the next two years.
As per the CSIR UGC NET pay scale 2018, selected candidates will be awarded fellowship of Rs. 25,000 per month for two years. As per the pay scale of CSIR UGC NET 2018, along with this, the university/institution will be given the annual contingent grant of Rs. 20,000 per fellow for the third and the subsequent year on the basis of the progress of the fellow.
